Every clinician state-licensed

Why MindView

Most therapy in Yonkers has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Most practices in Yonkers deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in Yonkers, in short

MindView Therapy works with Yonkers adults 18 and older by secure video, anywhere in New York State. We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare. There is no Yonkers office. We are taking new clients now.

Yonkers is the fourth-largest city in New York State, and it still runs short of therapists who take insurance and have an opening this month. We work with adults across southern Westchester by video. You keep your plan, you skip the waitlist, and you do not spend an hour of your evening on the Saw Mill to get to a 50-minute session.

Therapy that survives a Westchester commute

The single biggest reason people in Yonkers stall out on therapy is not cost and not stigma. It is the calendar.

A weekly appointment that requires a drive across town at 6pm, or worse, back down into the city, competes with everything else in the evening. It loses. People book it, attend three times, and quietly stop.

Removing the travel changes the arithmetic. A video session needs 50 minutes and a door that closes rather than 50 minutes plus two commutes. That is usually the difference between therapy you finish and therapy you abandon in month two.

Where our Yonkers clients are

Clients reach us from across the city’s four quadrants: Getty Square and the downtown waterfront, Park Hill, Nodine Hill and Ludlow Park in the southwest, Crestwood, Colonial Heights and Lawrence Park West up in the northeast, and Glenwood, Greystone, Nepera Park and Runyon Heights along the Hudson side and inland. Dunwoodie rounds it out.

We also see adults in the neighboring Westchester communities that share this commute shed, including Bronxville, Tuckahoe, Eastchester and Scarsdale, and across the line into Mount Vernon.

What adults here come in for

Anxiety leads, and in Yonkers it usually arrives dressed as something else. Trouble sleeping. A short fuse with people you like. A mind that starts drafting tomorrow around eleven at night and will not stop.

Depression is second, and it more often reads as flatness than as sadness. Things that used to land stop landing.

Couples and relationship work is third and heavily represented here. Two people working opposite schedules in an expensive housing market accumulate friction that has nothing to do with whether they like each other.

We also work with trauma, OCD, grief, burnout, workplace stress, and performance pressure. Adults 18 and older only.

How MindView structures care

You are not paying for an open-ended conversation with no shape to it.

Your first session is an intake: what brought you in, relevant history, what you want different, and a 0 to 10 rating of the intensity of what you are feeling. That rating becomes your baseline. You may decline any question. The early work then covers your broader history and the pressures around it, with every question optional, and produces a written treatment plan you help write, goals in your language plus one that is personal.

From there, sessions are weekly. Once a month you complete standardized measures, and your therapist walks you through the trend. If the plan is not moving, the plan changes. Progress is measured rather than assumed.

Most of our work is cognitive behavioral therapy, which is structured, present-focused and skills-based. Where something else fits your situation better, your therapist will tell you.

Is video actually as good?

For the outpatient concerns we treat, research comparing video-delivered CBT with in-person CBT has generally found comparable outcomes. That is the careful version of the claim and we will not inflate it.

It is not right for every situation. If what you need is a higher level of care than weekly outpatient sessions can provide, we will say so directly and help you find the right placement instead of keeping you on our schedule. If you simply prefer being in a room with someone, that is a legitimate preference, and a local Westchester practice may serve you better.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. The first meeting

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. The wider picture

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Building the plan

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Yonkers questions

Is there a MindView office in Yonkers?

No. We do not have a Yonkers office and we will not imply one. MindView is telehealth only, so Yonkers clients are seen online by secure video. We do not see clients in person at any location, so neither the Cross County nor the Deegan sits between you and an appointment.

I commute into Manhattan. Can sessions fit around that?

That is the most common scheduling question we get from Yonkers. Video sessions remove the travel time on both ends, so an appointment can sit inside a lunch break, before a Metro-North train, or after you are home. You do not lose an evening to a commute for a 50-minute session.

How online therapy works

What insurance do you take for Yonkers clients?

UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare, for New York telehealth. We check your specific benefits and tell you what you will owe before the first session, rather than after it.

Do you offer therapy in Spanish?

Language availability changes with our clinician roster, so the honest answer is to ask us rather than to promise on a webpage. Tell us what you need when you reach out and we will tell you plainly whether we can meet it right now.

My therapist has to be licensed in New York, right?

Yes. A therapist must hold a license in the state where you are physically located during the session. Our clinicians are licensed in New York. If you move out of state or spend a stretch of time elsewhere, tell us, because it changes what is lawful.

Can my partner and I do couples work if we get home at different times?

Yes, and it is one of the practical advantages here. Both partners can join the same session from two different places, as long as both of you are physically in New York State when the session runs.

How fast can I get in?

We are accepting new clients and reply within one business day. Picking your time online takes about 30 seconds.

What will I actually pay?

With an in-network plan you pay a copay or coinsurance instead of the full fee, and an unmet deductible may apply first. The number depends on your plan, so we verify benefits up front and tell you before you book a first session.

How do I get started?

  1. 1

    Check your insurance

Most major plans are accepted, and checking takes under a minute.

  2. 2

    Book online

Choose a time and book. It takes about 30 seconds.

  3. 3
