Why MindView

Most therapy in Yonkers has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take Aetna. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Aetna in Yonkers, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network with Aetna and sees Yonkers clients by secure video anywhere in New York State. A session costs you your plan's copay or coinsurance instead of the full fee, and we verify the amount with your plan before your first appointment. Accepting new clients.

In a city whose two biggest employers are hospitals, a lot of Aetna cards belong to people who give care for a living. This page is written with them in mind.

Does MindView take Aetna in Yonkers?

Yes. We are in-network with Aetna, and Yonkers clients meet their therapist by secure video anywhere in New York State. You pay the cost share written into your plan, we confirm what that is before the first session, and new clients are being scheduled now.

A hospital town’s insurance card

The two biggest employers in Yonkers are both hospitals, which means a lot of Aetna cards here are carried by people who spend their days taking care of everyone else. St. John’s Riverside Hospital employs about 1,900 people and St. Joseph’s Medical Center over 1,000, per the city’s own employer table, before you count the clinics, practices and home-care agencies around them.

If you are one of those people, or married to one, this page was aimed at you on purpose. The same goes for the rest of the city’s Aetna households: teachers, county workers, retail managers, anyone whose employer offers Aetna among its benefit choices. The healthcare framing is an emphasis, not a gate.

Therapy for people who give care all day

Even before the pandemic, 35 to 54 percent of nurses and physicians reported symptoms of burnout, a number the US Surgeon General put in a formal advisory in 2022. The texture behind that number is familiar to anyone on a unit: stacked shifts, compassion that runs out before the shift does, and being the steady one at work while running empty at home. Therapy does not treat a job title. It works on what the job leaves behind, the anxiety that will not switch off after handoff, the low mood that follows a hard census week, the marriage that keeps absorbing the schedule.

There is also the quieter problem nobody puts on a poster. When you work inside a hospital, seeing a therapist connected to that same building can feel impossible. A statewide video practice sits usefully outside it. Your therapist is not down the hall from your manager, and your care never touches your employer’s campus.

Caring for people professionally does not exempt you from needing it personally.

What you will pay with Aetna

Because we hold an in-network agreement with Aetna, a session is billed at the plan’s rate and your share is whatever your plan design assigns: a copay for most people, coinsurance or a deductible balance for some. We look up your actual benefit, not a typical one, and you hear the number before anything is charged.

Two details worth knowing. First, if a deductible applies, it resets each plan year, so the same session can cost differently in January than in November, and we flag that ahead of time. Second, if you fund an HSA or FSA through work, therapy cost shares are typically eligible expenses, which quietly lowers what a course of therapy really costs you.

What we treat

For healthcare workers and everyone else in Yonkers: burnout, anxiety, depression and trauma, plus our full outpatient range.

What Aetna covers here

  • Yonkers's two largest employers are hospitals, so a large share of local Aetna coverage sits in healthcare households.
  • Aetna plans cover video therapy sessions at your plan's normal cost sharing, and we confirm your specific benefit before you start.
  • If your coverage changes at open enrollment, we re-verify and tell you the new number before it affects a single bill.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Aetna questions

I work at a Yonkers hospital and would rather not see a therapist connected to my own workplace. How does that work with you?

We are a statewide video practice with no ties to Yonkers healthcare employers, and our clinicians are licensed across New York. Your sessions, records, and billing all sit outside the local system you work in, with the privacy that distance buys.

My shifts rotate. Can appointment times move with them?

Yes. Video scheduling is flexible enough to move week to week, and plenty of our clients rebook around rotations. Tell your therapist how your schedule runs and you will build a rhythm that survives it.

Does Aetna cover video therapy sessions?

Yes, at your plan's usual cost sharing. Different Aetna plan designs assign different copays or coinsurance, so we verify yours specifically and tell you the number before the first session.

Do you have an office in Yonkers?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Our closest office is in Jamaica, Queens, and every Yonkers session happens by secure video from wherever in New York State you are.
