In Nirja's words
A strong therapeutic relationship is at the core of meaningful change. Healing happens when there is a genuine, collaborative connection, where you feel seen, understood, and supported.
Our work together is a shared process. As you begin to understand yourself more deeply, I take the time to understand your experiences, your relationships, and the patterns that have shaped your life. That mutual exploration is what builds insight, emotional awareness, and lasting growth.
Each person carries a real capacity for resilience and self-understanding. At times it can feel distant or hard to reach, especially when you are carrying complex emotions or difficult experiences. My goal is to help you reconnect with that strength, looking at both past and present while building self-awareness and self-compassion.
My approach is relational and psychodynamic, and it integrates evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Mental health is shaped by both our internal world and our relationships with others, so I support people facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and cultural or identity-related experiences.
Together we work toward deeper insight, stronger emotional resilience, and change that lasts. Your experiences are honored here, and growth can unfold in a way that feels authentic to you.
What Nirja works on
What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- Session 1: Intake
Your first session with Nirja is an intake. You talk through what brought you in, your history, and what you want to change. You rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10, and that becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- Session 2: Psychosocial
A fuller picture of your life across its stages: relationships, work, health, and identity, and the patterns and strengths that carry through. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Session 3: Treatment plan
You build the plan together. Each goal is tied to what you came in for and has concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you and is not tied to a diagnosis.
- Ongoing
Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a Psycho-Measurement-Based Care Review (PMBCR). You complete standardized measures, such as the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.
