Every clinician state-licensed

Why MindView

Most therapy in New Rochelle has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Most practices in New Rochelle deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in New Rochelle, in short

MindView Therapy sees New Rochelle adults 18 and older by secure video across New York State. In-network plans include UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare. We have no New Rochelle office and are accepting new clients.

Finding a therapist in New Rochelle who takes your insurance and has an actual opening is harder than it should be in a city this size. We work with adults throughout southern Westchester by video, verify your benefits before you book, and can usually start within days rather than months.

The waitlist problem, plainly

Ask around New Rochelle and you will hear the same three sentences. The good practices are not taking new people. The ones taking new people do not take your insurance. The ones that take your insurance called back in six weeks.

That gap is the reason this page exists. Because we are a telehealth practice licensed statewide, our capacity is not limited by how many rooms we have in one building. We are in-network with the major commercial plans in New York, we verify your coverage before you commit, and we tell you what you will owe rather than letting it show up on a bill.

If we cannot take you, we say that too.

Who we see, and from where

Adults 18 and older, across the whole city. Clients connect from Downtown New Rochelle and the waterfront, Wykagyl and Quaker Ridge to the north, Rochelle Heights, Residence Park, Sutton Manor and Beechmont, and out along Davenport Neck and Premium Point.

Because none of this depends on a building, we work just as easily with people in Larchmont, Pelham, Pelham Manor, Mamaroneck and Eastchester, which for most families here are the same errand radius anyway.

What brings people in

Three things dominate in this market.

Anxiety, most often the low-grade continuous version rather than panic. It shows up as poor sleep, irritability with people you actually love, and a brain that will not close the tabs at night.

Relationship and marriage counseling. In a commuter city where two adults often work in two different directions, the strain tends to be structural rather than personal. Couples work here is one of our highest-volume requests.

Perfectionism and pressure, which in New Rochelle frequently attaches to parenting and to career. The standard is high, the margin feels thin, and the internal commentary gets loud.

We also treat depression, trauma, OCD, grief, burnout and major life transitions.

How the work is organized

MindView runs a defined structure rather than an indefinite conversation.

The first session is an intake with a 0 to 10 baseline rating. The second is a history session covering history, health, relationships and stressors, and you can decline any question in it. The third is when you and your therapist build the treatment plan together, written in your language, with a personal goal you chose.

Then weekly sessions, plus a monthly review using standardized measures. Your therapist shows you the trend line. If it is flat, the approach changes. That review is the mechanism that keeps therapy from drifting.

Our primary modality is CBT, which is structured, present-focused and skills-based. Your therapist will tell you when a different approach suits the problem better.

On the evidence for video sessions

For the outpatient concerns we treat, research comparing video-delivered CBT with in-person CBT has generally found comparable outcomes. We state it that carefully on purpose.

Video is not the right container for everything. If your situation calls for more than weekly outpatient care, we will tell you and help you find it rather than keeping you booked.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. The first meeting

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. The wider picture

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Building the plan

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

New Rochelle questions

Does MindView have an office in New Rochelle?

No, and we are direct about that. New Rochelle clients are seen entirely by secure video. The closest MindView office is in Jamaica, Queens, about 18 miles south, which the Hutchinson River Parkway can turn into a long trip at the wrong hour.

Which insurance plans work here?

For New York telehealth we are in-network with UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare. We do not list plans we cannot bill, and we confirm your specific benefits before your first session.

I live in Larchmont, not New Rochelle. Does that matter?

Not at all. Licensure is by state, not by town. If you are physically in New York during your session, we can see you, whether that is New Rochelle, Larchmont, Pelham, Mamaroneck or anywhere else in the state.

Is there a waitlist?

We are accepting new clients now and respond within one business day. We would rather tell you honestly that we are full than park you on a list for three months, which is what most people in this market have already been through.

What actually happens in the first session?

It is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in, gathers relevant history, asks what you want to be different, and has you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. Nothing is expected of you beyond showing up and talking.

Can we do couples counseling?

Yes. Couples work runs by video with both partners on the call, and partners can join from two separate locations when schedules require it, provided both are in New York State at the time.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. We provide talk therapy. If medication seems worth considering, your therapist will say so and can coordinate with your primary care provider or a psychiatric prescriber, but the prescribing itself happens elsewhere.

How much will it cost?

With an in-network plan you owe your copay or coinsurance rather than the full session fee, with any unmet deductible applying first. We verify your benefits and give you the number before your first appointment.

How do I get started?

  1. 1

    Check your insurance
