Our Buffalo office is on Washington Street downtown, one block east of Main Street and a short walk from Lafayette Square. Sessions are available in the office or by secure video anywhere in New York State.
Who do you help in Buffalo?
MindView Therapy works with adults 18 and older across Western New York. Our office is on Washington Street in downtown Buffalo, and clients come to us from Elmwood Village, Allentown, North Buffalo, the West Side, Amherst, Cheektowaga, and Tonawanda.
People come in for anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, burnout, grief, and relationship strain. Some are managing a demanding job. Some are dealing with something that happened years ago and never got dealt with. You do not need a diagnosis or a tidy explanation to start.
We also see couples and families. If you are unsure whether therapy is the right step, that is a reasonable thing to work out in a first session.
What does therapy here involve?
Therapy at MindView follows a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
Session one is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and what you want to be different. Session two is a psychosocial assessment, a fuller picture of your history, health, relationships, and stressors. Session three is where you and your therapist build your treatment plan together, with goals written in your language.
After that, sessions are weekly. Once a month you complete standardized measures, such as the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If the plan is not working, the plan changes. Progress is measured, not assumed.
Our work is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy. It is practical and structured. You leave with something to practice between sessions, not just something to consider. Sessions run in the office or by secure video, and you can switch between the two as your week demands.
What does the Buffalo office take for insurance?
We are in-network in Buffalo with Highmark BCBS, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, and Optum.
In-network means you pay your plan’s copay or coinsurance rather than the full session fee. Some plans apply a deductible first. Plans differ, especially employer-sponsored ones, so we verify your benefits before your first session and tell you what you will owe. No surprise bill later.
If your plan is not on that list, tell us and we will be straight with you about the options.
How do I get started?
Book a session online. It takes about two minutes and is mostly checkboxes. You do not need to explain your situation in a form.
We verify your insurance, confirm the cost, and get you scheduled. If you would rather speak to a person first, call (646) 493-4007 or email info@mindviewtherapy.com.
You can meet at the downtown office or by secure video anywhere in New York. You can also read about your therapist before you book. We are accepting new clients and respond within one business day.

What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- Session 1: Intake
Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- Session 2: Psychosocial
Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Session 3: Treatment plan
You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.
- Ongoing
Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a Psycho-Measurement-Based Care Review (PMBCR). You complete standardized measures, such as the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.
