Industry-leading, structured care

Every clinician state-licensed

Why MindView

Most therapy in Rye has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Most practices in Rye deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in Rye, in short

MindView Therapy sees Rye adults 18 and older by secure video across New York State. We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare. There is no Rye office and we are accepting new clients.

Rye is a small Westchester city on the Long Island Sound, about twenty-five miles from our Queens office. It is a market where therapy is widely available at a private fee and much harder to find in-network. We work with adults here by secure video and confirm what your plan pays before you book.

A small city on the Sound

Rye is a city of about 16,600 in southeastern Westchester County, on the Long Island Sound near the Connecticut line. It is a compact, historic place with a Metro-North station on the New Haven Line and a very large share of residents commuting into Manhattan.

There is a naming quirk worth clearing up, because it confuses people looking for local services. The City of Rye, the Village of Rye Brook and the Town of Rye are three different municipalities, and Rye Brook is not part of the city. For our purposes none of it matters, because our license is statewide rather than municipal, but it does affect what you find when you search for something local.

The in-network gap in southern Westchester

This is the practical reason people here reach out, and it is worth naming plainly.

Therapy is not scarce in this part of Westchester. In-network therapy is. A large share of private practices in affluent Westchester operate on a private-pay basis, where the full session fee is due at the time of service and any reimbursement is something you pursue with your insurer afterward, assuming your plan has out-of-network benefits at all.

We are in-network. You pay your copay or coinsurance, any unmet deductible applies first, and we verify the number with your plan before your first session rather than leaving you to discover it later.

Where our clients are

Adults 18 and older in Downtown Rye, Milton Point, Greenhaven, Rye Gardens and Indian Village, plus the surrounding communities: Rye Brook, Port Chester, Harrison, Mamaroneck and Purchase.

Port Chester next door is a notably different community from Rye in income and demographics, which is a reminder that this corner of Westchester is not uniform even where the map looks continuous.

What people come in for here

Anxiety is by a distance the most common presentation, and in this market it has a particular character. It is frequently high-functioning: the person carrying it is performing well at a demanding job, meeting every obligation, and privately exhausted by the effort of keeping all of it upright.

Perfectionism is closely related and shows up often enough here to name separately. The pattern is a standard that was useful at twenty-five and has become a tax by forty-five, applied to work, to parenting and to the self with no allowance for being tired.

Performance and work stress is a substantial share. A lot of people in this corridor work in finance, law and corporate roles where evaluation is constant and public.

Depression is second overall, and in high-achieving households it is regularly mistaken for burnout for a long time before anyone treats it as depression.

Couples work is common, and the strain is usually structural rather than dramatic: two demanding careers, a commute at each end and very little unscheduled time together.

We also treat trauma, OCD, grief, anger and life transitions. Adults 18 and over only.

Why video fits a commuter market

The obstacle here is not distance to a therapist. It is time.

A Manhattan commute plus a demanding job means an in-office appointment has to fit into a window that barely exists. The typical failure is not dropping out in month one. It is the appointment sliding to whatever slot was available, then being missed when a meeting runs long, then being rescheduled twice, then quietly ending.

Sessions without travel on either end survive a schedule like that. Early morning before the train, or evening after dinner, both work when the session starts wherever you already are.

How care is structured

Four stages, fixed order, and for people used to being measured at work the transparency tends to land well.

Intake first, ending with a 0 to 10 intensity rating that becomes your baseline. Your history second, across history, health, relationships and stressors, with every question declinable. Treatment plan third, written with you in your own words, carrying one goal you choose.

Then weekly sessions, with a monthly review against standardized measures. You see the actual trend rather than being told it is going well. If it is flat, the plan changes.

The primary method is CBT: structured, present-focused, skills-based, and finite in a way open-ended therapy is not. For high-functioning anxiety and perfectionism that structure is usually the right fit.

Video, stated carefully

For the outpatient concerns we treat, studies comparing CBT delivered by video with CBT delivered in a room have generally shown comparable outcomes. We state that narrowly because that is how the evidence reads.

Video is not right for every presentation. If what you need is beyond what weekly outpatient sessions can deliver, we will say so and help you find the appropriate level of care rather than keeping the appointment on our books.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. The first meeting

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. The wider picture

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Building the plan

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Rye questions

Is there a MindView office in Rye?

No. We have no Rye office and will not imply one. MindView is telehealth only, so every Rye client is seen online by secure video. We do not see clients in person at any location.

What insurance do you accept?

UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare, for New York telehealth. We verify your specific benefits and tell you your cost before your first session.

Most therapists here do not take insurance. Do you?

Yes. That is the main reason people in this area contact us. In-network means a copay or coinsurance rather than a full private fee, and we confirm the amount with your plan before you commit.

I live in Rye Brook or Harrison, not the City of Rye. Does that matter?

Not at all. Rye Brook is a separate village and Harrison is a separate town, but we are licensed across New York State rather than scoped to a municipality, so all of it works identically.

Can sessions work around a commuting schedule?

That is usually why people choose video here. Without travel on either end, an early morning or evening appointment is realistic in a way that a mid-afternoon office visit is not.

Do you take Medicare?

Yes. Medicare is one of the plans we are in-network with for New York telehealth. We confirm your particular coverage and any secondary plan before you begin.

How soon can I get in?

We are accepting new clients and reply within one business day. Choosing a time online takes about 30 seconds.

What happens in the first session?

An intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in, gathers relevant history, asks what you want to change, and has you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline.

How do I get started?

  1. 1

    Check your insurance

Most major plans are accepted, and checking takes under a minute.
