Every clinician state-licensed

Why MindView

Most therapy in the Bronx has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Most practices in the Bronx deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in the Bronx, in short

MindView Therapy works with adults in the Bronx by secure video, anywhere in New York State. We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare, we confirm your cost before your first session, and we are taking new clients now.

If you are looking for a therapist in the Bronx who takes your insurance, start with the list. We are in-network with eleven New York plans, including Medicare, and before you attend a single session we check your benefits and tell you in plain numbers what you will pay. Sessions happen by secure video from wherever in the borough you are.

The only borough on the mainland

The Bronx is the one piece of New York City attached to the continent. The other four boroughs sit on islands; the Bronx runs from the Riverdale hills above the Hudson to the Hunts Point peninsula on the East River, with the Grand Concourse down its spine and Pelham Bay Park, about three times the size of Central Park, on its eastern edge.

Within those 42 square miles live 1.38 million people (ACS 2024). We serve the adults among them, 18 and older, for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, family strain, and the stress of holding a household together. No referral needed, no diagnosis required to make the first call.

Where in the Bronx our clients are

Sessions reach us from Fordham, Riverdale, Kingsbridge, Mott Haven, Hunts Point, the Grand Concourse, Morrisania, Soundview, Parkchester, Castle Hill, Throgs Neck, Pelham Bay, and Wakefield, and everywhere between.

Because care is by video, north versus south Bronx makes no difference to your options. The therapist you pick is the therapist you keep, whichever side of Fordham Road you live on.

Therapy and the language question

More of the Bronx speaks a language other than English at home than any other borough, 58.4 percent (ACS 2024). So the language question comes up constantly, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a marketing one.

What we can promise: we will tell you honestly, when you contact us, whether our current roster can meet your language needs. What we will not do is promise Spanish-language therapy on a webpage and walk it back on the phone. If we are not the right fit, we say so and help you look elsewhere. That policy costs us some bookings and keeps us honest.

What care at MindView looks like

Therapy here follows a defined structure rather than an open-ended drift. Your first session is an intake: what is happening, what you want changed, and a 0 to 10 rating of how hard it is hitting you, which becomes your baseline. From there the work opens into the longer version of your story, with every question optional, and becomes a treatment plan written jointly, in words you chose.

After that the rhythm is weekly, with monthly reviewed together so progress is a number you can see, not a feeling you have to take on faith. The core approach is cognitive behavioral therapy, practical and skills-based, flexed when your situation calls for something different.

Can a video session really do the job?

For the concerns we treat in outpatient care, video-delivered CBT has performed comparably to in-office CBT across the research that has compared them. That is the claim, stated at its honest size.

And there are limits we respect. When someone needs more care than a weekly video session provides, our job is to say that early and connect them to the right level of help, not to keep the appointment on our calendar.

Start here

Booking runs through our secure client portal and takes about 30 seconds, easier with your insurance card in reach.

We verify the benefits, tell you the cost, and set your weekly time. Expect a reply within one business day. We are accepting new clients, and if a phone call is easier, dial (646) 493-4007.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. The first meeting

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. The wider picture

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Building the plan

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

the Bronx questions

Is there a MindView office in the Bronx?

No, and we will say that clearly instead of hinting otherwise. MindView is telehealth only, so Bronx clients meet their therapist online by secure video. We do not see clients in person at any location, so the Whitestone and the Throgs Neck never factor into a session.

Do you have Spanish-speaking therapists?

The honest answer is to ask us when you reach out rather than trust a webpage, because language availability changes as our clinician roster changes. Tell us what you need and we will tell you straight whether we can meet it right now, and point you elsewhere if we cannot.

What insurance do you take for Bronx clients?

UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare. Whichever of those is in your wallet, we verify the benefits before your first session and tell you what it will cost you.

My apartment is not private. Where do I take the session?

Anywhere in New York State you can talk without being overheard. Clients use bedrooms with the door shut, parked cars, empty break rooms, and headphones. If finding a spot is the obstacle, raise it with us and we will problem-solve it together.

Does my therapist have to be licensed in New York?

Yes. What matters legally is where you are during the session, and our clinicians hold the New York licenses that cover you anywhere in the state, the Bronx included.

How fast can I get an appointment?

Booking takes about 30 seconds online, and we respond within one business day. We are accepting new clients.

How online therapy works

What are the first sessions like?

You start with an intake, where your therapist hears what brought you in and you rate its intensity from 0 to 10. Next comes a fuller history, where any question can be passed on. Third, the two of you write a treatment plan in your own words. Weekly sessions follow.

What will therapy cost me?

With an in-network plan, your copay or coinsurance instead of the full fee, after any deductible you have not yet met. We check your exact plan first and give you the real number before your first appointment.
