Why MindView

Most therapy in the Bronx has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take Medicare. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Medicare in the Bronx, in short

MindView Therapy bills Original Medicare for outpatient therapy and sees Bronx adults by secure video anywhere in New York State. We confirm your exact share, deductible, coinsurance, and any coverage that helps with both, before the first session, so the cost question is settled up front. Accepting new clients now.

Most Bronx Medicare beneficiaries have moved to private Advantage cards, which makes this page's audience specific, the roughly seventy thousand who kept Original Medicare. If that is you, or the parent you help care for, here is exactly what the coverage pays for therapy and how to begin.

Does MindView take Medicare in the Bronx?

Yes. We bill Original Medicare, and Bronx adults meet their therapist by secure video from home, a permanently covered way to receive mental health care.

No Bronx office exists to send you to; ours is in Jamaica, Queens. For a member weighing bus transfers against a session, home video is not the consolation prize, it is the better option.

Seven in ten chose Advantage. This page is for the other three

Seven of every ten Bronx Medicare beneficiaries have moved to a private Advantage plan, the highest share in New York, and this page exists for the seventy thousand who kept the original. Federal enrollment data counts 229,963 beneficiaries in the county, with 161,948 in Advantage plans and 68,016 on Original Medicare.

The distinction matters at booking time because Advantage cards belong to private insurers with their own rules, while Original Medicare is the federal program we bill directly. Unsure which you hold? The card answers it, and so will we if you read it to us.

What Original Medicare charges for therapy

The structure has three layers. The Part B deductible comes first, $283 for 2026 by Medicare’s own setting. Then the program pays 80 percent of the approved amount for each session, leaving you 20 percent. The third layer is whatever helps with that share, a Medigap supplement that often covers it entirely, or the other help with costs that many Bronx members qualify for.

We bill Original Medicare directly and tell you your exact share before the first session, so the cost question is settled before the talking starts. No referral is required, and your annual depression screening costs nothing.

Older in the Bronx, with family close and days long

In a borough of multi-generation households, the grandmother holding everyone together rarely gets an hour that belongs only to her. Grandchildren minded, meals stretched, a spouse mourned quietly between obligations, and everyone assumes she is fine because she is always the one asking after others.

A weekly covered session is the structural fix, one hour that cannot be borrowed against. Whether the weight is grief that settled into the body or worry that circles the family finances at night, Part B treats it as the health care it is, and adult children coordinating a parent’s care get plain answers from us about what Medicare pays.

Booking with Medicare

For the household comparing coverage, the Bronx list runs: UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare.

Start at the booking page or call (646) 493-4007, yourself or through a family member. We verify, confirm the cost in writing, and set the weekly hour, with replies inside one business day.

What Medicare covers here

  • Medicare Part B covers outpatient mental health care. You pay the annual deductible, set by Medicare at $283 for 2026, then 20 percent of the approved amount per session while Medicare pays 80.
  • A Medigap supplement can cover most or all of that 20 percent, and many Bronx members carry other help with costs as well. We confirm what applies to you before the first session.
  • Mental health telehealth from home is a permanent benefit, and the periodic in-person requirement is waived through December 31, 2027. No referral is needed, and the annual depression screening is free.
  • Original Medicare covers family involvement only as part of treating your own condition. Counseling aimed purely at a relationship is not a covered Part B service, said here so it never becomes a surprise.

How to book with Medicare

  1. 1

Gather your cards, Medicare plus any supplement, or have a family member snap photos of them.

  2. 2

Request an appointment online, or call us if the phone is simpler. Family members are welcome to help set things up.

  3. 3

We confirm the Part B coverage and every layer that helps with your share, then tell you the exact figure in writing.

  4. 4

Meet your therapist weekly by secure video from home, no travel and no waiting room.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Medicare questions

Does MindView Therapy accept Medicare in the Bronx?

Yes. We bill Original Medicare directly and see Bronx adults by secure video anywhere in New York State. There is no Bronx office; our nearest is in Jamaica, Queens, and Medicare covers these home video sessions.

Most people I know here have an Advantage plan. Do you take mine?

Advantage cards come from private insurers, each with its own rules, and seven in ten Bronx beneficiaries hold one. This page's promise is Original Medicare, which we bill. Tell us exactly which card you have and we will verify the right coverage rather than guessing.

What will I owe per session in 2026?

Medicare set the 2026 Part B deductible at $283. Once it is met, Medicare pays 80 percent of the approved amount and your share is 20 percent, which a Medigap supplement or other help with costs often reduces or erases. We confirm your exact number before you start.

Can my daughter help set this up for me?

Absolutely, and it happens all the time. A family member can make the first call, send us the card photos, and sort the schedule. The sessions themselves belong to you alone, which is rather the point.

Take the first step

You do not have to figure this out alone. Booking takes about 30 seconds.
