Why MindView

Most therapy in Fulton has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take Medicare. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Medicare in Fulton, in short

Yes. MindView Therapy is in-network with Medicare and sees Fulton adults by secure video anywhere in New York State. Medicare covers outpatient mental health under Part B, and your home is a permitted site for a telehealth session. In 2026 the Part B deductible is $283, Medicare then pays 80 percent and 20 percent is coinsurance. If you carry a Medicare Advantage card we do not assume network status. We verify which card you hold before booking.

Of 1,709 residents of the city of Fulton aged 65 and over, 1,702 carry Medicare, and 625 of them hold Medicare and nothing else. That is 36.6 percent of the age group, against 29.5 percent across Oswego County and 28.3 percent statewide. For those 625 people the deductible and the 20 percent are not one part of the cost question. They are all of it.

What Part B leaves you paying

In 2026, Medicare Part B carries a $283 deductible before it pays anything toward outpatient mental health care. Once that is met, Part B pays 80 percent of the allowed amount, leaving 20 percent coinsurance on every session after. The standard Part B premium is $202.90 a month. That structure is not unique to mental health; it is the same arithmetic that applies to most outpatient medical care under Original Medicare.

The deductible is a once-a-year threshold rather than a per-visit charge, which is where confusion often starts. It does not reset with each new provider or each new kind of care; it is one cumulative total across everything Part B covers in a calendar year. Once it is met, through therapy or through anything else Part B pays for, the 20 percent coinsurance is what remains for every subsequent visit that year.

None of these mechanics are unique to therapy. They are the same Part B rules that apply to a cardiology visit or a physical therapy appointment, and mental health care requires no special explanation beyond the ordinary one. The premium, the deductible and the coinsurance percentage all come from the same federal source, and we cite that source rather than estimating a number of our own.

More than a third hold Medicare and nothing else

Of 1,709 residents of the city of Fulton aged 65 and over, 1,702 carry Medicare. Of that same group, 625 hold Medicare and nothing else, 36.6 percent, against 29.5 percent across Oswego County and 28.3 percent statewide. That is the single largest group in this age bracket in the city, and it is a meaningfully higher share than either comparison.

For that group specifically, Original Medicare’s lack of an annual out-of-pocket ceiling is not an abstract feature of the program. It is the entire cost structure they are working with. Every session, for as long as care continues, carries that same 20 percent, with nothing else absorbing any part of it.

What a second card does, and what it does not

A second card changes that arithmetic. Of the same 1,709 residents, 301 pair Medicare with employer coverage, below the county’s 25.4 percent, and 161 pair it with a directly purchased policy, below the county’s 12.9 percent. A separate 303 pair Medicare with Medicaid, which is a different situation entirely: MindView does not bill Medicaid directly, and we ask a reader who carries it to say so at booking so we can confirm what actually applies rather than assuming either that we bill it or that such a client would be turned away.

None of these figures describe what any specific second card actually pays, and we do not name, rank or recommend any supplement or Advantage product. What the numbers establish is the structural fact: in the city of Fulton, more people are managing Part B’s coinsurance without a second card absorbing it than the county or the state, and that structural reality is worth knowing before a first session rather than discovering across a year of statements.

A person deciding whether to buy a supplement policy is making a financial decision that sits outside anything we can advise on. What we can do is tell you, once you have made that decision either way, exactly what it means for a specific session’s cost.

Why we never assume an Advantage network

A Medicare Advantage plan replaces Original Medicare with a private plan that has its own network, decided plan by plan rather than assumed from the word Medicare printed on the card. Being in-network with Medicare generally is not the same claim as being in-network with a specific Advantage plan. Some Advantage plans also require a referral or prior authorization before a mental health visit is covered, a requirement Original Medicare does not carry.

We ask at booking whether you carry Original Medicare, an Advantage plan, or Medicare paired with a second policy, and we check what actually applies before anything is scheduled. We would rather confirm and tell you the answer than promise one in advance and be wrong once a claim is filed.

This is a standing practice rather than a one-off caution. Advantage plans change their provider networks from year to year, sometimes mid-year, and a plan that included us in January is not guaranteed to include us in December. A person switching from Original Medicare to an Advantage plan, or the reverse, during open enrollment can see their entire cost structure change between one plan year and the next, even though the word Medicare stays on the card throughout.

Some Advantage plans also require a referral or prior authorization before a mental health visit is covered at all, a requirement Original Medicare does not carry. We ask about this specifically rather than assuming an Advantage card works the same way Original Medicare does, since the two can differ on more than the dollar amount owed per session.

The years Medicare arrives in

The years when Medicare eligibility arrives are often the same years when other things start changing. People lose the ones they have known longest. A new diagnosis reshapes what an ordinary week looks like, and a social circle narrows without anyone deciding it should. Those are common, ordinary reasons to want an hour with somebody, and they are among the reasons people in this age group book a first session, whether or not that reason is the one they name at booking.

None of this is a claim about any individual who calls, and the coverage figures above say nothing about who is grieving, who is managing a diagnosis, or who is simply looking for company in a changed week. They describe how coverage is held across this city’s older residents, not what anyone carrying it is actually going through.

Starting, and what we confirm first

Residents of the city of Fulton on Medicare come to us at every stage: newly eligible, long enrolled, or managing a second card for the first time. People book for grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and the emotional weight that can sit alongside chronic pain or illness.

MindView has no office in the city of Fulton, and every session is by secure video with a clinician licensed in New York, from anywhere inside the state. See the Fulton location page for the full list of plans covered here, part of our statewide New York coverage.

A standing weekly appointment can be one of the few fixed points left in a week that has otherwise lost its old structure, whether that structure came from a job, a spouse’s schedule, or a routine built around children who have since moved away. A session by secure video keeps that fixed point simple to hold onto, at exactly the point in life when the reasons to want it tend to increase rather than fade.

Have your Medicare card ready, along with any second card, and book online; it takes about 30 seconds. We verify exactly what you carry, tell you the per-session cost, and confirm whether an Advantage plan is in-network rather than assuming it. A first session is an intake: what brought you in, the background behind it, and a baseline reading with standardized measures that later sessions get checked against.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Medicare questions

What does a session actually cost me on Medicare?

In 2026 Part B has a $283 deductible, then Medicare pays 80 percent and 20 percent is coinsurance, with a standard Part B premium of $202.90 a month. Original Medicare has no annual out-of-pocket ceiling, which is why the presence or absence of a second card matters so much over a full year.

I do not have a second card. Does that change anything?

Yes. Without a second card the 20 percent coinsurance is yours with no annual cap. This is the largest single group among residents of the city of Fulton aged 65 and over, more than a third of the age group. A supplement or an employer plan alongside Medicare absorbs that percentage; we describe the structure without naming or ranking any product.

I have a Medicare Advantage plan. Are you in-network?

We do not assume network status for an Advantage plan. We check which plan is on the card before anything is booked, and we tell you what we find either way, rather than promising in advance.

Does Medicare cover a session done from my living room?

Yes. There is no geographic originating-site restriction for mental health telehealth, and the home is a permitted site for a covered session.

I have Medicaid alongside Medicare. What happens?

Tell us at booking so we can confirm what applies to your specific situation. We do not bill Medicaid directly, and having it alongside Medicare is not a reason you would be turned away.
