Why MindView

Most therapy in Brooklyn has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take Aetna. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Aetna in Brooklyn, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network with Aetna, and Brooklyn adults see us by secure video from anywhere in New York State. Before your first appointment we verify your Aetna benefits and confirm your copay or coinsurance, so you start therapy already knowing the cost. Accepting new clients now.

An Aetna card in Brooklyn nearly always came through a job, and the benefit it carries includes outpatient therapy. This page covers what that benefit does, what it costs to use, and how to book with us. The short version is that we take Aetna, we are licensed in New York, and we confirm your exact cost before you commit to anything.

Does MindView take Aetna in Brooklyn?

Yes. We are in-network with Aetna, and our clinicians hold New York licenses, which is what lets them treat anyone physically in the state.

Brooklyn clients are seen by secure video. To be straight with you about geography: our nearest office sits in Jamaica, Queens, and we do not keep a Brooklyn address. If video works for your life, nothing about your Aetna coverage treats it as second-class care.

How Aetna coverage reaches Brooklyn members

Here is a fact most Aetna members never think about. There is no individual Aetna plan for sale in New York, and as of January 1, 2026 the company stopped selling individual marketplace coverage nationwide. So if an Aetna card is in your wallet in Brooklyn, someone else already arranged it, almost always an employer, occasionally a Medicare plan for those 65 and up.

That matters because employer coverage is quietly rarer here than people assume. Census figures put job-based coverage at 1,127,615 Brooklyn residents, 43.1 percent of the borough, noticeably below the national share. Fewer than half of your neighbors carry what you carry. The benefit is worth using fully, and therapy is part of it.

Copays, coinsurance, and what we confirm first

Your employer picked the plan design, and the design decides your cost. A copay is a flat amount per session. Coinsurance is a percentage you owe after your deductible, the amount you cover yourself before the plan starts paying. Every Aetna member has one design or the other, and guessing wrong is how people get surprised.

So we do not guess. We pull your actual benefits, confirm the figure, and hand it to you before your intake. One quiet detail worth knowing: deductibles reset every January, and that changes the math on when starting therapy costs you least.

The benefit that came with the job

The most common reason Brooklyn workers hesitate to use this coverage is the sense that work stress is not serious enough for therapy. The plan disagrees. An Aetna employer plan covers outpatient therapy the same way it covers a primary-care visit, whether the thing wearing you down is a manager, a caseload, an anxious loop you cannot exit, or a relationship strained by both incomes and no time. Couples work is available where a plan covers it, and we check yours rather than assuming.

You already pay for this benefit out of every paycheck. Using it is not an indulgence, it is collecting.

What else do you take in Brooklyn?

The full Brooklyn plan list reads: UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare. Carrying Aetna plus a partner’s plan? Send us both and we will run the comparison.

How to book

Head to our booking page, pick a clinician, and request a time that fits. A person, not a queue, reads it within one business day.

We then verify your Aetna benefits, send you your confirmed cost, and hold your first video session wherever in New York you are. If talking feels easier than typing, call (646) 493-4007.

What Aetna covers here

  • Your therapy cost on an Aetna plan is set by your employer's plan design, either a fixed copay per session or coinsurance after a deductible. We confirm which one applies to you before your first session.
  • On New York-regulated plans, your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay. We confirm your plan's rules when we verify your benefits.
  • Cards issued recently often read Aetna CVS Health. It is the same coverage, on a newer card design.
  • Some employer packages route mental health calls to a separate phone number with its own copay level. We sort that out during verification so you never have to.

How to book with Aetna

  1. 1

Find your Aetna member ID. It is on the front of your card, whether the card says Aetna or Aetna CVS Health.

  2. 2

Request a therapist and a time through our online booking page. Expect it to take two or three minutes.

  3. 3

We verify your Aetna coverage and tell you the confirmed per-session figure before your intake appointment.

  4. 4

Start your sessions by secure video from anywhere in New York. Coverage questions along the way are ours to handle, not yours.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Aetna questions

Does MindView Therapy accept Aetna in Brooklyn?

Yes. We are in-network with Aetna and see Brooklyn adults by secure video anywhere in New York State. There is no Brooklyn office. The nearest one is in Jamaica, Queens, about 12 miles out, and Brooklyn clients are seen by video.

I got my Aetna plan through my Brooklyn employer. Is therapy covered?

Yes. Outpatient therapy is a covered benefit on employer Aetna plans. What you pay per session, a copay or a share after your deductible, was set when your employer chose the plan design. We look up your exact figure and tell you before your first session.

My card says Aetna CVS Health. Is that the same Aetna?

Yes. Aetna cards issued in recent years carry the Aetna CVS Health name, and the coverage works the same way. Give us the member ID on the front and we can verify your benefits from there.

Can I buy an individual Aetna plan in New York?

No. Aetna does not sell individual marketplace plans in New York, and it ended individual marketplace coverage nationwide as of January 1, 2026. An Aetna card in Brooklyn almost always means employer coverage, or an Aetna Medicare plan for people 65 and over.
