Why MindView

Most therapy in Brooklyn has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take Oxford Health Plans. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Oxford Health Plans in Brooklyn, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network with Oxford Health Plans for Brooklyn adults, with sessions held by secure video anywhere in New York State. Whatever network name your Oxford card shows, we verify your therapy benefit and confirm your copay before your first session. Accepting new clients now.

Oxford is the plan a huge share of downstate workplaces hand out, especially the small ones, and if your Brooklyn employer gave you one, therapy is inside it. What trips people up is the card itself, which carries a network name most members never notice. This page shows you what to look for and what it means for booking with us.

Does MindView take Oxford in Brooklyn?

Yes. Oxford members in Brooklyn book with us and are seen by secure video, anywhere in New York State, by clinicians licensed here.

The address question, answered before you wonder: no office in the borough. Jamaica, Queens holds our closest one. For most Oxford members, whose plan came from a workplace that never had time for long lunches anyway, the video format is the practical one.

Metro, Liberty, Freedom: reading your own card

Two facts untangle most Oxford confusion. First, Oxford is the name on much of the UnitedHealthcare employer coverage sold downstate, so a member holding an Oxford card is not carrying something exotic. Second, and less known: the single most useful thing an Oxford member can do before calling us is read the small network name printed on the card, because Metro, Liberty, and Freedom each answer the in-network question differently.

You do not need to know what the names mean, and we will not burden you with it. Read the word off the card when we verify, and we will tell you precisely what your version covers with us. That check finishes before your intake, with your copay confirmed in writing.

Small workplaces, real benefits

More than a quarter of New York City’s businesses are Brooklyn businesses, and nearly seven in ten of them employ fewer than five people. The census counts 62,317 employer establishments in the borough, and only 83 of them pass a thousand employees. This is a borough of five-person shops, and five-person shops are exactly where Oxford coverage shows up.

If that is your work life, take the plan seriously: therapy on it is usually a flat copay, mental health typically needs no referral even when specialists do, and the benefit does not shrink because the company is small.

What tiny-company work does to your head

At a five-person company there is no HR department to translate a benefits booklet, so we do that part for you. There is also no anonymity and no buffer. A tense partner, a struggling colleague, a slow quarter, all of it lands on you personally, and the office follows you home in a way corporate jobs rarely manage. Steady anxiety and strain that seeps into a relationship are the versions we hear most.

Therapy is the one room where the shop does not follow you in. One hour, weekly, by video, covered by the card in your pocket.

Everything Brooklyn, one list: UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare.

What Oxford Health Plans covers here

  • Oxford is the name on much of the UnitedHealthcare employer coverage sold downstate. If your card says Oxford, that is the plan we are talking about here, and it covers outpatient therapy.
  • Your card shows a network name, Metro, Liberty, or Freedom. Read it to us when we verify, because the name on the card decides which therapists count as in-network for you.
  • Most Oxford employer plans use a flat copay for therapy. On New York-regulated plans, your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay. We confirm your plan's rules when we verify your benefits.
  • Mental health care generally needs no referral on Oxford plans, even ones that gate specialist visits. We double-check yours during verification.

How to book with Oxford Health Plans

  1. 1

Look at your Oxford card and note two things, your member ID and the network name printed near the logo.

  2. 2

Choose a clinician and request a time on our booking page. The form is brief by design.

  3. 3

We verify your Oxford benefits against your card's network, confirm your copay, and message you the figure before your intake.

  4. 4

Meet your therapist by secure video, weekly, from anywhere in New York State.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Oxford Health Plans questions

Does MindView Therapy take Oxford in Brooklyn?

Yes. We are in-network with Oxford Health Plans and see Brooklyn adults by secure video across New York State. We do not keep a Brooklyn office, our nearest is in Jamaica, Queens, and Brooklyn sessions happen by video.

My card says Oxford Metro. Does that change my therapy coverage?

It can, which is why the card matters. Metro, Liberty, and Freedom are network names, and each answers the in-network question differently. Read yours to us and we verify against it, so you know exactly where you stand before booking.

I work for a small Brooklyn company. Is my Oxford plan enough for weekly therapy?

Yes. Small-group coverage is Oxford's home turf downstate, and outpatient therapy is a covered benefit on it, usually at a flat copay. A ten-person shop's plan is real coverage. We verify your numbers and tell you before your first session.

Do I need a referral for therapy on Oxford?

Generally no. Even Oxford plans that require referrals for specialists tend to leave mental health open, so you can book directly. We confirm your specific plan's rules while verifying your benefits.
