Why MindView

Most therapy in Tell City has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Most practices in Tell City deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in Tell City, in short

MindView Therapy sees Tell City clients by secure video anywhere in Indiana. We provide structured, evidence-based therapy for adults (18+), in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. No Tell City office - sessions run by video from home. Accepting new clients now.

Tell City is a planned colony on the Ohio River in Perry County, organized by the Swiss Colonization Society in 1856. The site was purchased in July 1857 and laid out into 392 blocks and 7,328 building lots before the settlers ever arrived. First named Helvetia, it was renamed for William Tell. We see Perry County adults by secure video, in-network with Anthem, Cigna, and Aetna.

A town that was designed before anyone lived in it

Tell City did not grow. It was drawn. The Swiss Colonization Society organized in 1856, bought the site on the Ohio River in July 1857, and laid the place out into 392 town blocks containing 7,328 building lots - all of it plotted before the settlers arrived to occupy any of it. It was first named Helvetia, the Latin name for Switzerland, and then renamed after William Tell.

The planning went past the street grid and into the street names. They are a deliberate roll call of the military, arts, letters, and sciences: DeKalb, Watt, Steuben, Schiller, Mozart, Franklin, Humboldt, Pestalozzi, Gutenberg, Fulton, Jefferson, Washington, Lafayette. You cannot drive across town without passing a composer and an inventor. That was the point. The founders were building a community with an idea of itself already attached.

That idea persisted. The William Tell statue fountain stands at city hall. Sunset Park sits on the river. Schweizer Fest began in 1959 and is one of the longest-running community festivals in Indiana. Cannelton is next door.

What has not changed is the geography. Perry County is on the southern edge of Indiana, on the Ohio River, and it is a long way from anywhere with a full range of specialists. That is the defining practical fact for anyone here trying to get regular care.

MindView provides secure video sessions for adults (18+) anywhere in Indiana, in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, with a first response within one business day. Our office is in Carmel, IN, and none of your care depends on going there.

What we hear from Perry County

Anxiety and depression that went untreated for years because the nearest option was too far to sustain. This is the most common story we hear from remote counties, and it is usually not about reluctance at all.

Isolation. Living in a small river town in a remote county means a small circle by default, and when something goes wrong in that circle - a falling out, a death, a move - there is not much to fall back on. That is a structural problem, not a personal failing.

Grief that the whole town is already discussing. In a community with this much shared history, a loss belongs to everybody, and the person actually grieving ends up managing other people’s reactions. A private hour is often the first place they get to say what they actually feel.

Financial and work stress, and the specific weight of feeling like the options are limited to what is nearby.

Marriages where nothing dramatic is wrong and something has been slowly draining out for years.

You do not need a diagnosis to book, and you do not need to arrive with the right words.

What happens after you book

You begin with an intake session - history, current difficulty, and 0-to-10 self-ratings that establish where you are starting from.

The picture broadens to the rest of your life, at whatever depth you choose. Nothing in it is compulsory.

The treatment plan is written with you, in your own phrasing, and includes a goal that belongs to you rather than to a diagnosis.

Then weekly appointments, with a monthly re-measurement using standardized measures. A flat trend is treated as information, and the plan changes. If the numbers are not moving, the plan changes rather than continuing on faith.

The therapy is shaped around your problem and grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy, which is structured and skills-driven. You leave with something to practice. Your therapist is licensed in Indiana.

The cost side

We are in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the Indiana Blue and the commercial card most employers here issue. Cigna - we are in-network. Aetna - we are in-network.

You get your actual cost before you start, because we verify the plan rather than asking you to.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. The first meeting

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. The wider picture

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Building the plan

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Tell City questions

Does MindView Therapy have an office in Tell City?

No. Our Indiana office is in Carmel, IN, far to the north, and Tell City care runs entirely by secure video. Nothing about your treatment requires that drive.

What insurance do you take in Tell City?

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, all in-network. Anthem is Indiana's Blue Cross Blue Shield plan and the most common commercial card in southern Indiana. We verify your benefits and quote your cost before session one.

Perry County is remote. How does that change getting therapy?

It is the whole reason video works here. Distance is what ends most weekly appointments, usually within the first two months. Removing the drive removes the failure point, and the session itself is the same session.

Kentucky is right across the river. Does that affect anything?

Only where you physically sit. Licensure follows your location during the session, so you need to be in Indiana when it happens. Your home in Tell City qualifies; a spot across the river does not.

Who is the therapist?

Our Indiana-licensed therapist, who sees Indiana clients statewide by secure video. You keep the same therapist week to week.

What happens in the first session?

An intake - what brought you in, your history, what you want to change, and 0-to-10 ratings of what you are feeling, which become your baseline.

Will anyone locally know I am in therapy?

There is no waiting room, no parking lot, and no local office. Your care is confidential and nothing about it is visible in town.

How soon can I start, and what does it cost?

We are accepting new clients and respond within one business day. In-network, you pay your copay or coinsurance, with any unmet deductible first. We give you the number in advance.

How do I get started?
