Why MindView
Most therapy in Charlestown has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.
Most practices in Charlestown deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.
- 01
Intake
What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.
- 02
Your history
Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.
- 03
Treatment plan
Written and collaborative, built against those causes.
- 04
Monthly review
Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.
A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.
Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in Charlestown, in short
MindView Therapy sees Charlestown clients by secure video anywhere in Indiana. We provide structured, evidence-based therapy for adults (18+), in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. No Charlestown office - sessions run by video from home. Accepting new clients now.
Charlestown was established in 1808 and named for surveyor Charles Beggs, and it served as the Clark County seat from 1811 to 1878. Its defining economic event came much later - the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, which took a town of roughly 900 people in 1940 to about 13,400 during the wartime buildup, then let it contract again. That expansion and collapse still shapes the place. We see Clark County adults by secure video, in-network with Anthem, Cigna, and Aetna.
A town that grew fifteen times over, then shrank back
Charlestown was established in 1808, named for the surveyor Charles Beggs, and it was the Clark County seat from 1811 to 1878. For over a century that was the story: an old southern Indiana county town that had once been the center of things and then was not.
Then the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant arrived. A town of roughly 900 people in 1940 became a town of about 13,400 during the wartime buildup. Housing, schools, stores, and streets all had to absorb a population that multiplied more than fourteen times in a few years. Then the war ended, the plant’s demands changed, and the town contracted again.
Places do not forget that. A community that has lived through a boom and the hollow that follows it develops a particular relationship to work: gratitude when the jobs are there, and a low background hum of expectation that they might not stay. That shows up in how people think about their own stability, and it shows up in what they bring to a first session.
Our service is secure video therapy for adults (18+) statewide, in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, with a response inside one business day. Our office is in Carmel, IN, and Charlestown care does not run through it.
What we hear from Clark County
Anxiety tied to work and money in people whose jobs are fine right now, which is a different thing from feeling secure. It is one of the most treatable presentations we see, and one of the most commonly ignored, because nothing is currently wrong.
Burnout in industrial, warehouse, and healthcare schedules, presenting as irritability and flatness rather than sadness. Depression that has been carried quietly for years. Marriages where two schedules never overlap and the relationship gets whatever is left. Life transitions - a job ending, a plant changing hands, kids leaving, a parent needing care - which land harder in a community where those changes are usually collective rather than individual.
You do not need a diagnosis or the right words to book. The intake is where we sort out what is actually happening.
Being on the edge of a metro is not the same as being in one
Charlestown sits in the Louisville orbit, with Springville about a mile away and the Ohio River just beyond. On a map that looks like access to everything. In practice, a metro on the other side of a state line is a complicated place to get healthcare. Licensure is state-based, so a therapist across the river usually cannot legally treat you while you are sitting at home in Indiana. And even when the logistics work, an hour of driving attached to every weekly appointment is the single most common reason people stop going.
Video removes both problems at once. Your therapist is licensed here, and the appointment happens where you are.
How care actually runs
Intake comes first. Your history and your reasons for coming, plus 0-to-10 ratings of what you are feeling that serve as the starting line. After that the wider context of your life gets mapped, at your pace and with anything skippable, and a written treatment plan comes out of it, agreed between you, including one goal you choose yourself.
Then it is weekly work, with a monthly review of standardized measures. When the numbers stall, so does the current plan. If the numbers are not moving, the plan changes rather than drifting. That is the whole reason to measure.
The method follows the problem rather than a house style, anchored in cognitive behavioral therapy, which is structured and practical. You leave with something to practice. Your therapist is licensed in Indiana.

What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- The first meeting
Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- The wider picture
Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Building the plan
You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.
- Ongoing
Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Charlestown questions
Does MindView Therapy have an office in Charlestown?
No. Our Indiana office is in Carmel, IN, and Charlestown care runs entirely by secure video. Nothing about your care depends on driving there.
Louisville is close. Why not find someone over there?
You can, and plenty of people do. The practical issue is that a therapist licensed in Kentucky generally cannot see you while you sit in Indiana, and the round trip is what kills weekly attendance anyway. We are licensed in Indiana and you never leave your house.
What insurance do you take in Charlestown?
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, all in-network. Anthem is Indiana's Blue Cross Blue Shield plan. We verify your specific benefits and quote your exact cost before the first session.
I work an industrial shift schedule. Can you work around it?
Yes. We set your standing time around the shift and move it when the shift changes. Without a commute attached, a session can sit directly against a shift instead of eating a whole free afternoon.
In a town this size, will anyone know I am seeing a therapist?
With video there is no waiting room and no parking lot near the square for anyone to notice. Your record is confidential and nothing about your care shows up locally.
Who is the therapist?
Our Indiana-licensed therapist, who sees Indiana clients statewide by secure video. You keep the same therapist week to week.
What happens in the first session?
An intake - what brought you in, your history, what you want to change, and 0-to-10 ratings of what you are feeling, which become your baseline.
How soon can I start, and what does it cost?
We are accepting new clients and respond within one business day. In-network, you pay your copay or coinsurance, with any unmet deductible first. We give you the number before session one.
