Why MindView
Most therapy in Gas City has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.
Most practices in Gas City deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.
- 01
Intake
What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.
- 02
Your history
Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.
- 03
Treatment plan
Written and collaborative, built against those causes.
- 04
Monthly review
Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.
A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.
Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in Gas City, in short
MindView Therapy sees Gas City clients by secure video anywhere in Indiana. We provide structured, evidence-based therapy for adults (18+), in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. No Gas City office - sessions run by video from home. Accepting new clients now.
Gas City was settled in 1867 as Harrisburg and renamed in 1892, after the 1887 natural gas discovery turned it into a boom town. The gas was depleted by the early 1900s, but the name stayed - a fossil of the Indiana Gas Boom sitting on the map in Grant County, next to Marion and Jonesboro. Each autumn the city hosts the Ducktail Run Rod and Custom Car Show. We see Grant County adults by secure video, in-network with Anthem, Cigna, and Aetna.
A city named after something that ran out
Gas City is one of the more honest place names in Indiana. It was settled in 1867 as Harrisburg. In 1887 natural gas was discovered, the Indiana Gas Boom arrived, factories followed the cheap fuel, and by 1892 the town had renamed itself after the reason for its own good fortune. By the early 1900s the gas was depleted.
The name stayed. More than a century later, Grant County residents live in a city named for a resource that was gone before their grandparents were born. That is not a sad story exactly, but it is a specific kind of inheritance: a place that once had a very clear answer to the question of why it existed, and then had to find another one.
What it has now is a working Grant County community next to Marion and Jonesboro, a public library, a high school, and one genuinely great annual event. The Ducktail Run Rod and Custom Car Show fills the town every autumn with vehicles from 1972 and older, and it drew over 2,000 vehicle registrations in 2020. For one weekend a year, Gas City is the destination.
MindView provides secure video sessions for adults (18+) anywhere in Indiana, in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, with a first response within one business day. Our office is in Carmel, IN, and Gas City care does not run through it.
What we hear from Grant County
Anxiety about work and money, including in people whose situation is currently stable. Living in a region that has watched industries come and go teaches you to keep one eye on the exit, and that habit is exhausting to maintain.
Burnout, which shows up as short temper and flatness rather than sadness, and which almost never gets named as burnout by the person carrying it. Their spouse notices first.
Men who have never been to therapy and are not sure they should be. This is a large group here and a badly served one. The version we run is structured and goal-based, with measurement attached, which lands very differently than what most men expect when they picture counseling.
Life transitions - a job ending, a plant changing, kids grown, a parent needing care. Depression that has been managed quietly for a long time and has stopped responding to being managed quietly.
You do not need a diagnosis to book. “Something is off and I want it handled” is a complete starting point.
How care actually runs
You begin with an intake session - history, current difficulty, and 0-to-10 self-ratings that establish where you are starting from. The work then broadens to the rest of your life, with nothing you are obliged to answer, and produces a written treatment plan you co-author, goals phrased your way, one of them yours alone.
After that: weekly sessions, plus a monthly re-scoring of standardized measures. If nothing is shifting, the plan does not stay as it is. If the numbers are not moving, the plan changes rather than drifting. That is the whole reason to measure.
Which methods get used depends on the problem, with cognitive behavioral therapy as the backbone - structured, practical, and aimed at the present. You leave with something to practice. Your therapist is licensed in Indiana.
Paying for it
We are in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the Indiana Blue and the commercial card most employers here issue. Cigna - we are in-network. Aetna - we are in-network.
We confirm your specific benefits up front and give you the cost in plain dollars, not a range.

What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- The first meeting
Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- The wider picture
Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Building the plan
You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.
- Ongoing
Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Gas City questions
Does MindView Therapy have an office in Gas City?
No. Our Indiana office is in Carmel, IN, and Gas City care runs entirely by secure video. Nothing about your care depends on driving there.
Marion is close. Why not go there?
You can. The practical difference is that a video session removes the round trip, and the round trip is usually what decides whether weekly therapy lasts past the second month.
What insurance do you take in Gas City?
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, all in-network. Anthem is Indiana's Blue Cross Blue Shield plan. We verify your specific benefits and quote your exact cost before the first session.
Will people around here find out I am seeing someone?
With video there is no office to be seen entering and no car parked outside one. Your record is confidential and nothing about your care is visible locally.
I am a guy in my forties and I have never done this. What is it actually like?
Structured and practical. We name what is wrong, set goals you agree with, work on specific skills, and check monthly whether the numbers are moving. It is closer to working a problem than to talking about your feelings for an hour.
Who is the therapist?
Our Indiana-licensed therapist, who sees Indiana clients statewide by secure video. You keep the same therapist week to week.
What happens in the first session?
An intake - what brought you in, your history, what you want to change, and 0-to-10 ratings of what you are feeling, which become your baseline.
How soon can I start, and what does it cost?
We are accepting new clients and respond within one business day. In-network, you pay your copay or coinsurance, with any unmet deductible first. We give you the number before session one.
