Why MindView
Most therapy in Garrett has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.
Most practices in Garrett deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.
- 01
Intake
What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.
- 02
Your history
Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.
- 03
Treatment plan
Written and collaborative, built against those causes.
- 04
Monthly review
Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.
A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.
Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in Garrett, in short
MindView Therapy sees Garrett clients by secure video anywhere in Indiana. We provide structured, evidence-based therapy for adults (18+), in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. No Garrett office - sessions run by video around shift schedules. Accepting new clients now.
Garrett is a railroad town in the literal sense - it was platted in 1875 when the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was extended there, named for John W. Garrett, the B&O's president, and incorporated as a city the same year. It sits just west of Auburn in DeKalb County, about 15 miles north of Fort Wayne. We see DeKalb County adults by secure video, in-network with Anthem, Cigna, and Aetna.
A city that a railroad built on purpose
Most towns grow and then get a railroad. Garrett got it in the other order. In 1875 the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad extended its line, a town was platted to serve it, and it was named for John W. Garrett, the railroad’s president. It was incorporated as a city that same year. There was no gradual settlement phase. The company decided where the town would be, and the town appeared.
That origin still shapes the place. A railroad town is organized around a work schedule that does not care what time it is, and the culture that grows in one is practical, punctual, and used to shift life. Generations of families here have arranged everything - meals, childcare, marriages - around somebody’s schedule that started at an inconvenient hour.
The town has its own oddities too. The Creek Chub Bait Company was founded in Garrett in 1916, and its fishing lures are still collected by people who will drive a long way for a good one. There is a historical marker for it. The Garrett Historic District carries the older housing stock, and the Judy A. Morrill Recreation Center serves the community now.
Auburn, the county seat, is immediately east. Both cities sit about 15 miles north of Fort Wayne, close enough that Fort Wayne is where people go for anything specialized, and far enough that going weekly is a different proposition than going once.
We provide secure video sessions to adults (18+) anywhere in Indiana, in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, and respond within one business day. Our office is in Carmel, IN, and Garrett care does not run through it.
What we hear from DeKalb County
Sleep that shift work has taken apart. This is the most common thing we hear from towns with schedules like this one, and it is also the most fixable with the right structure. Bad sleep degrades mood, patience, and judgment in that order, and people usually blame themselves for all three.
Irritability and a short fuse at home that is almost always exhaustion arriving at the only place where it is safe to arrive. That does not make it harmless, and it is treatable.
Anxiety in people with steady work who cannot explain why the floor still feels unsteady. Steady employment does not immunize anyone against anxiety; it just makes it harder to justify out loud.
Depression handled privately for years, in a culture where the expected answer to how you are doing is fine. Anger that has started to cost something - a relationship, a job, a friendship - and has finally become impossible to ignore.
You do not need a diagnosis to book, and you do not need to have the right words ready.
What the process looks like
First comes the intake - background, current trouble, and 0-to-10 ratings of each symptom, which become the baseline.
The work opens out into your fuller history and the pressures around it, and you set how far it goes.
A written treatment plan comes out of that early work, drafted with you, carrying both clinical goals and one that is simply yours.
Then weekly sessions, with standardized measures reviewed monthly against that baseline. If the trend is flat, the plan changes.
Method is chosen to suit the problem, resting on cognitive behavioral therapy - practical, structured, oriented to the present. You leave with something to practice. Your therapist is licensed in Indiana.
What insurance covers
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield - we are in-network. We take it. Cigna - we are in-network. Aetna - we are in-network.
We confirm your specific benefits up front and give you the cost in plain dollars, not a range.
First step
Start by booking online - about 30 seconds. Coverage gets verified, the cost gets quoted, and a weekly time gets set. Accepting new clients, with a reply inside one business day. Or ring (646) 493-4007.

What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- The first meeting
Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- The wider picture
Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Building the plan
You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.
- Ongoing
Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Garrett questions
Does MindView Therapy have an office in Garrett?
No. Our Indiana office is in Carmel, IN, and Garrett care runs entirely by secure video. Nothing about your treatment requires driving there.
Fort Wayne is only about 15 miles away. Why not drive there?
For one appointment, that drive is nothing. For a weekly appointment plus parking plus the buffer you build in, it is roughly an extra hour and a half every week for a year. That arithmetic is what makes people stop coming in month two.
I work an odd shift. Can weekly therapy fit?
Yes. With no commute on either end, a session can sit against a shift instead of requiring a free half-day. We set a standing time and move it when your schedule moves.
What insurance do you take in Garrett?
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, all in-network. Anthem is Indiana's Blue Cross Blue Shield plan and the most common commercial card in DeKalb County. We verify your benefits before session one.
Who is the therapist?
Our Indiana-licensed therapist, who sees Indiana clients statewide by secure video. You keep the same therapist week to week.
Will anyone in town know I am seeing a therapist?
There is no waiting room, no parking lot, and no local office to be seen entering. Your record is confidential and nothing about your care is visible in the community.
What happens in the first session?
An intake - what brought you in, your history, what you want to change, and 0-to-10 ratings of what you are feeling, which become your baseline.
How soon can I start, and what does it cost?
We are accepting new clients and respond within one business day. In-network, you pay your copay or coinsurance, with any unmet deductible first. We give you the number in advance.
