Why MindView

Most therapy in Hobart has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Most practices in Hobart deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in Hobart, in short

MindView Therapy sees Hobart clients by secure video anywhere in Indiana. We provide structured, evidence-based therapy for adults (18+), in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. No Hobart office - sessions run by video, which in Northwest Indiana means no US 30 traffic between you and an appointment. Accepting new clients now.

Hobart sits in Lake County around Lake George, a residential city that grew up on brickyards - Hobart High School still calls its teams the Brickies - and now sits beside one of Northwest Indiana's busiest retail corridors at Southlake Mall. Plenty of people here work in Lake County and commute toward Chicago. We see Hobart adults by secure video, in-network with Anthem, Cigna, and Aetna.

Therapy that does not add a drive to your day

Hobart is a Lake County city built around a lake, with a downtown on one side and, on the other, the retail gravity of the Southlake corridor where US 30 meets the traffic of half of Northwest Indiana. The brickyards that gave the Brickies their name are gone, but the shape they left behind is still here: a residential city whose working population scatters every morning toward Merrillville, Gary, Chicago, and the industrial lakefront.

That scatter is exactly what makes weekly therapy hard to sustain locally. An appointment that requires crossing the US 30 corridor at 5 p.m. gets cancelled by February. So our offer is built the other way around: secure video sessions for adults (18+), from wherever you are in Indiana, in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, with a first response inside one business day.

Our office is in Carmel, IN, about 140 miles southeast. Hobart care does not run through it. Everything happens by video.

What we hear from Lake County

Commute-driven exhaustion, which people usually describe as irritability before they describe it as fatigue. Anxiety in shift and industrial workers whose schedules rotate faster than any standing appointment can follow. Marriages running on opposite hours, where two people share an address and very little else during the week. Depression that arrived quietly during a long stretch of doing fine on paper.

You do not need a diagnosis to book, and you do not need a tidy explanation. “Something has been off for a while” is a complete reason to start. Sorting out what it actually is happens in the intake, not before it.

What the sessions actually look like

MindView runs a visible process rather than an open-ended one. Those numbers are where measurement starts. Your first session is an intake - the story, the history, and a set of 0-to-10 ratings on what you are carrying. From there your therapist fills in the fuller context, at whatever depth suits you, and the two of you put a written treatment plan on paper, in your words, with one goal that is purely yours.

After that, sessions are weekly, and once a month you complete standardized measures and review the trend together. If the line is flat, the plan changes. The measurement exists so that neither of you has to guess whether the work is doing anything.

Method is chosen to suit the problem, resting on cognitive behavioral therapy - practical, structured, oriented to the present. You leave sessions with something to practice. Your therapist is licensed in Indiana.

The insurance picture

Cigna - we are in-network. Aetna - we are in-network.

Which is why we do the checking rather than asking you to. Your cost is verified and quoted before session one, in real numbers.

Two counties, one commute, and a lot of lost evenings

A large share of Hobart works somewhere other than Hobart. That produces a specific pattern we see constantly: people who are fine on Saturday and depleted by Tuesday, whose symptoms track the working week so closely that they assume it is just life rather than something treatable. It is treatable. Sleep, irritability, and the sense of having no time that belongs to you all respond to structured work, and none of it requires quitting your job to fix.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. The first meeting

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. The wider picture

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Building the plan

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Hobart questions

Does MindView Therapy have an office in Hobart?

No. Our Indiana office is in Carmel, IN, roughly 140 miles southeast, and Hobart care runs entirely by secure video. We would rather say that plainly than look local on a map when we are not.

I commute toward Chicago. Does that affect therapy?

Only in one way that matters. Licensure follows your physical location during the session, so your session needs to happen while you are in Indiana. Your home in Hobart qualifies. A parking garage in the Loop does not, which is worth knowing before you book a lunch-hour slot.

What insurance do you take in Hobart?

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. Anthem is Indiana's Blue Cross Blue Shield plan and the most common commercial card in Lake County. We verify your specific benefits and quote your cost before the first session.

Who is the therapist?

One Indiana-licensed therapist holds every MindView session in the state, so you keep the same therapist week to week rather than being reassigned.

Is a video session really as useful as sitting in an office?

For the outpatient concerns we treat, research comparing video-delivered CBT with in-office CBT has generally found comparable outcomes. We also track your progress monthly with standardized measures, so you get an answer from your own numbers instead of a claim.

How fast can I start?

We are accepting new clients and respond within one business day. Booking online takes about 30 seconds.

What will it cost?

In-network, your copay or coinsurance, with any unmet deductible first. We check your plan and give you the actual number before your first session.

Do you see couples in Hobart?

Yes. Couples sessions run by video with both partners on the call, together in one room or from two different Indiana locations. For households where one person commutes and the other does not, two locations is often what makes a shared hour possible.

How do I get started?
