Why MindView
Most therapy in New Albany has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.
Most practices in New Albany deliver whatever approach the therapist you happened to get was trained in. We run one format for every client, and we measure it.
- 01
Intake
What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.
- 02
Your history
Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.
- 03
Treatment plan
Written and collaborative, built against those causes.
- 04
Monthly review
Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.
A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.
Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Therapy in New Albany, in short
MindView Therapy sees New Albany clients by secure video anywhere in Indiana. We provide structured, evidence-based therapy for adults (18+), in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. New Albany looks across the river at Louisville, but your therapist has to be licensed in Indiana - and ours is. Accepting new clients.
New Albany is the old soul of Southern Indiana - Mansion Row's steamboat-era houses, a working downtown, the Knobs rising behind it, and Louisville filling the horizon across the Ohio. Living here means using two states daily while legally residing in one, and therapy licensure cares about that one. We see Floyd County adults by secure video, in-network with Anthem, Cigna, and Aetna.
Southern Indiana’s oldest river town, served without the river problem
New Albany has watched Louisville across the water since the steamboat era, and daily life still flows both directions over the Sherman Minton. But mental health care has a rule that does not commute: your therapist must be licensed in the state where you are during the session. For a Floyd County resident, that is Indiana - which quietly removes most of metro Louisville’s therapists from your realistic options, however close their offices look on a map.
MindView closes that gap from the Indiana side. Adults (18+), seen by secure video anywhere in Indiana - downtown New Albany, Silver Hills, up in Floyds Knobs, out to Georgetown - by our Indiana-licensed therapist. Our office sits in Carmel, 125 miles north, and your care never depends on it.
What Floyd County brings to therapy
An old river town holds every kind of story, and ours from New Albany run the range. Grief with deep local roots - families who have buried generations here. Depression that settled in after a job loss or a health scare and never left. Trauma, recent and decades old. Marriages where the silence got comfortable and then stopped being comfortable. Transitions: retirement, kids moving across the river or across the country, the strange vertigo of caring for the parent who used to care for you.
And a lot of practical-minded people who waited years because therapy seemed like a Louisville errand - another bridge crossing, another parking garage. It is not. It is a video call from your own kitchen.
The shape of the work
We run a defined process and tell you about it upfront. Intake first - what brought you in, your history, and 0-to-10 ratings of what you are feeling, which become your baseline. Your history second - the fuller story, with any question declinable. Treatment plan third - co-written, goals in your own words, one personal goal included. Then weekly sessions, with standardized measures repeated monthly and read as a trend. If the trend goes flat, the plan changes - measured care means the data gets to argue with us.
The approach is matched to what you bring, anchored in cognitive behavioral therapy: structured, present-focused, skills-based, and well-supported by research in its video-delivered form for the concerns on this page.
Insurance on the Indiana side
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna - in-network with all three. Worth knowing locally: Anthem is the Indiana Blue. If your employer is on the Kentucky side, your card may be a Kentucky Anthem product, and benefits for Indiana telehealth depend on the specific plan - which is exactly why we verify your coverage and quote your cost before the first session rather than letting the first claim be the test. Cigna - we are in-network.

Insurance we accept in New Albany
We check your plan before your first session and tell you what you will pay.
All insurance we accept →What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- The first meeting
Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- The wider picture
Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Building the plan
You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.
- Ongoing
Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

New Albany questions
Does MindView Therapy have a New Albany office?
No. We serve New Albany, Floyds Knobs, Georgetown, and Silver Hills entirely by secure video. Our Indiana office is in Carmel, about 125 miles north - a fact we would rather state than obscure.
Half my life happens in Louisville. Does that complicate therapy?
Only in one specific way - sessions must happen while you are physically in Indiana, because that is where your therapist is licensed. Living in New Albany and working in Louisville is the standard pattern here, and evening or morning sessions from home handle it cleanly.
Why not just find a therapist in Louisville?
Kentucky-licensed therapists generally cannot treat you while you sit in Indiana. Some clinicians hold both licenses; most do not. If you live on this side of the river, an Indiana-licensed clinician seen from home is the arrangement with no fine print.
What insurance do you take in New Albany?
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna, all in-network. Anthem is Indiana's Blue Cross Blue Shield plan. We verify your benefits and quote your cost before the first session.
Who would I be seeing?
A therapist licensed in Indiana, which is what the law requires - licensure follows the state you are sitting in during the session.
What do the first sessions look like?
The first session is an intake with 0-to-10 ratings of what you are feeling. The early work fills in the wider context, then produces a treatment plan you build together, with weekly sessions and a monthly review of standardized measures.
How soon can I begin?
