Why MindView

Most therapy in Manhattan has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take UnitedHealthcare. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

UnitedHealthcare in Manhattan, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network with UnitedHealthcare for Manhattan adults, with sessions by secure video from any private spot in New York State. Before your first appointment we identify your plan's exact therapy cost, copay or deductible design, and put the number in writing. Accepting new clients now.

If your UnitedHealthcare card came from a Manhattan employer, therapy is already budgeted into your benefits, and using it takes less coordination than most of your meetings. Here is how the coverage works, what it will cost, and how sessions fit into a calendar that has no obvious gaps.

Does MindView take UnitedHealthcare in Manhattan?

Yes. We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare, our clinicians are licensed in New York, and Manhattan clients meet us by secure video from any private space in the state.

No Manhattan office, said up front: the nearest one we operate is in Jamaica, Queens. For the reader whose day is scheduled to the quarter hour, that detail usually matters less than this one: a session by video costs your calendar exactly sixty minutes, with zero travel on either side.

Working in the busiest square miles in America

Manhattan packs almost two and a half million jobs into one island, nearly three for every employed person who actually lives here. Federal payroll counts put it at 2,487,868 jobs against 877,340 employed residents, with private-sector pay averaging $184,075, the region’s job engine by any measure. Most of those jobs answer to a Manhattan employer’s benefits package, and UnitedHealthcare is one of the names those packages carry most often.

The plan came with the offer letter. The part nobody circulates in onboarding: it covers weekly therapy, no referral needed, at a cost we can name for you in advance.

Copay or deductible: which design your employer chose

Every UnitedHealthcare employer plan answers the cost question one of two ways. Either therapy takes a flat copay, the same fixed amount each session, or the plan runs a deductible-first design, where you pay the negotiated rate until your annual threshold is met and a percentage, the coinsurance, afterward.

The difference decides what your first months of therapy cost, and it is knowable in one verification call, which we make before your intake. On New York-regulated plans, your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay, a state rule we confirm against your specific plan along the way. However your card is designed, you hear the number from us first.

A session that does not require leaving the building

Burnout in high-performing people rarely looks like collapse; it looks like joyless competence that gets a little worse each quarter. In a culture where the calendar is status, admitting strain can feel like a demotion, so the strain gets rescheduled instead, indefinitely.

Here is the quieter alternative. A therapy session by video is the one meeting on your calendar that exists entirely for you, and your employer plan already budgets for it. Whether what you bring is anxiety that has colonized your inbox or a flatness that promotion did not fix, it books like a meeting, runs like a meeting, and serves nobody’s agenda but yours.

Getting started

Manhattan’s plan roster, complete: UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare.

Book through the online portal, and we handle verification and cost confirmation before you ever log into a session. Prefer the phone? (646) 493-4007 reaches a person who replies within one business day.

What UnitedHealthcare covers here

  • Manhattan UnitedHealthcare members overwhelmingly hold employer coverage, priced either as a flat copay per session or as coinsurance after a deductible on high-deductible designs. We identify yours before the first session.
  • On New York-regulated plans, your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay. We confirm your plan's rules when we verify your benefits.
  • If the behavioral health line on your card reaches a different name than the front of the card, nothing is wrong. It is one membership, and no untangling is required of you.
  • Video sessions are typically covered at the same cost share as office visits under New York telehealth rules, which is the fact that makes lunchtime therapy possible.

How to book with UnitedHealthcare

  1. 1

Have your UnitedHealthcare card somewhere findable. The member ID is the only homework.

  2. 2

Book through our online portal, pick a clinician, request a time. It is faster than scheduling most work calls.

  3. 3

We verify the plan, identify copay versus deductible design, and send your confirmed per-session cost before the intake.

  4. 4

Keep a standing weekly video slot, early, late, or midday, from any private space in New York.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

UnitedHealthcare questions

Does MindView Therapy take UnitedHealthcare in Manhattan?

Yes. We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare and see Manhattan adults by secure video anywhere in New York State. We keep no Manhattan office; the closest one is ours in Jamaica, Queens, about 13 miles out, and Manhattan clients meet us by video.

Can I do sessions from my office or between meetings?

Yes. Telehealth requires a private space in New York, not a home. A booked conference room, a quiet office with the door shut, or your apartment all work. Lunchtime, early morning, and evening slots exist for exactly this reason.

What will a session cost me on a UnitedHealthcare employer plan?

One of two things, depending on the design your employer chose, a flat copay each session, or the negotiated rate until your deductible is met and then a percentage. We verify which applies and tell you the exact figure before your first session.

Do I need a referral to start therapy?

No. Outpatient therapy on UnitedHealthcare plans needs no referral from a doctor. Book directly, we verify your benefits, and you start.
