Why MindView

Most therapy in Manhattan has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take Oxford Health Plans. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Oxford Health Plans in Manhattan, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network with Oxford Health Plans for Manhattan adults, with weekly sessions by secure video anywhere in New York State. Read us the network name on your Oxford card and we handle everything else, benefits verified and your copay confirmed before the first session. Accepting new clients now.

Oxford is what health coverage looks like at Manhattan's small companies, the galleries, practices, startups, and shops that make up most of the island's employers. If one of them handed you an Oxford card, weekly therapy is in it. One word printed on that card decides the details, and this page shows you where to find it.

Does MindView take Oxford in Manhattan?

Yes. Oxford members across Manhattan see us by secure video, statewide, with every clinician licensed in New York.

House rule on honesty: no Manhattan office, closest one in Jamaica, Queens, sessions virtual. For a five-desk company where stepping out for two hours is operationally impossible, an hour by video is the version of therapy that actually happens.

Ninety-four thousand employers, most smaller than a subway car

Manhattan holds nearly ninety-four thousand employers, and more than half of them would fit their whole staff in a single subway car. The census counts 93,904 establishments in the county, 57.3 percent employing fewer than five people and roughly 79,000 employing fewer than twenty.

That is Oxford’s heartland. Small-group coverage is the product small downstate firms reach for, which is why the card shows up in gallery back offices, dental practices, three-founder startups, and everywhere else the org chart fits on a napkin. If that is your workplace, the plan in your wallet carries real therapy coverage, and small does not mean lesser.

The word on your card that matters

One line of plain background: Oxford is part of UnitedHealthcare, which is why the names sometimes appear together. The functional detail sits elsewhere, printed on your card in small type, Metro, Liberty, or Freedom. That network word decides which therapists count as in-network on your specific plan.

You are not expected to know what the words mean. Read yours to us, and verification comes back with the two facts you need, confirmed in-network status and your copay, delivered before your intake.

Copays, referrals, and what we check

Therapy on Oxford small-group plans typically runs on a flat copay your employer’s design set. On New York-regulated plans, your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay, a state protection we confirm applies to your plan. And mental health is generally exempt from the referral requirements some Oxford designs put on specialists, so booking is direct.

A six-person firm on this island competes with giants and absorbs every setback personally, which is exactly the pressure a five-desk office cannot vent. When it starts surfacing as a baseline hum of dread or tension that follows you home to your partner, the covered weekly hour is the release valve the office lacks.

Start this week

Manhattan’s roster, complete: UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare.

Pick a clinician at the booking page, request an hour, and we run the card, the copay, and the calendar. Callers welcome at (646) 493-4007, with a response inside one business day.

What Oxford Health Plans covers here

  • Oxford is part of UnitedHealthcare, and it is the name on much of the employer coverage small downstate companies buy. An Oxford card from a Manhattan employer covers outpatient therapy.
  • Your card prints a network name, Metro, Liberty, or Freedom, and that word determines which therapists are in-network for your plan. Read it to us during verification and we resolve it for you.
  • Therapy on Oxford employer plans usually runs on a flat copay. On New York-regulated plans, your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay. We confirm your plan's rules when we verify your benefits.
  • Mental health care generally requires no referral on Oxford plans, including designs that gate specialist visits. We verify yours to be sure.

How to book with Oxford Health Plans

  1. 1

Find two things on your Oxford card, the member ID and the network word near the logo.

  2. 2

Request a clinician and a session time through our online booking flow.

  3. 3

We verify against your card's network, confirm the copay, and put your number in writing before the intake.

  4. 4

Keep a weekly video session from wherever in New York your day puts you.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Oxford Health Plans questions

Does MindView Therapy take Oxford in Manhattan?

Yes. We are in-network with Oxford Health Plans and see Manhattan adults by secure video anywhere in New York State. No office on the island; our closest is in Jamaica, Queens, and Manhattan sessions run by video.

Our whole company is six people. Is our Oxford plan still full coverage for therapy?

Yes. Small-group plans are exactly where Oxford lives, and outpatient therapy is a covered benefit on them, usually at a flat copay. Coverage does not scale down with headcount. We verify your plan's numbers and tell you before your first session.

Metro, Liberty or Freedom is on my card. What do I do with that?

Nothing except read it to us. The network word printed on an Oxford card answers the in-network question, so read it to us and consider the question handled. We verify your benefits against it and confirm what you will pay.

Do I need my doctor's referral first?

Generally no. Mental health care on Oxford plans is typically open for direct booking even when specialist visits are gated. We confirm your plan's rules during verification, so there are no surprises.
