Why MindView

Most therapy in Staten Island has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take UnitedHealthcare. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

UnitedHealthcare in Staten Island, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network with UnitedHealthcare for Staten Island adults, with evening and weekend video sessions that fit working households, anywhere in New York State. We identify your plan's copay or deductible design and confirm your cost before the first session. Accepting new clients now.

Staten Island settles the insurance question at hiring more than any other borough, so if you are here, the card probably already exists and the benefit already covers therapy. What remains is converting a line in a benefits booklet into a weekly hour that survives family logistics, and that is what this page is for.

Does MindView take UnitedHealthcare in Staten Island?

Yes. We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare, and Staten Island adults meet us by secure video anywhere in New York State, with the borough’s most useful hours, evenings and weekends, well stocked.

The office disclosure, up top as always: nothing on the island. Ours is in Jamaica, Queens, about 23 miles off. A session from the kitchen table after bedtime asks nothing of the ferry schedule, the bridge, or the babysitter.

The borough where coverage came with the job

More Staten Islanders get coverage through a job than in any other borough, which means the insurance question is usually already answered before anyone calls us. Census estimates put employer coverage at 52.2 percent of residents as their primary type, the highest of the five boroughs, with the city’s lowest uninsured rate at 4.1 percent.

Practically, that means the hard part is not eligibility, it is activation. The benefit sits in the booklet from HR, quietly covering weekly therapy, waiting for someone to use it. This page is the activation step.

Copay or deductible: your employer decided, we decode

Every UnitedHealthcare employer plan runs one of two cost designs. The flat copay version charges a fixed amount per session, predictable from the first week. The deductible version bills the negotiated rate until your annual threshold is met, then switches to coinsurance, a percentage.

Which one your household carries changes the early math, so we decode it before you commit. On New York-regulated plans, your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay, one of the plan rules we confirm during verification. Your confirmed cost arrives before the intake, in writing.

Therapy that respects a family calendar

In a two-earner house the obstacle to therapy is rarely conviction and usually the calendar. Between shifts, practices, homework, and the commute, the open hour does not exist, so we put the session where the day actually has slack, evenings and weekends, from home.

What fills that hour is the borough’s usual load, worry that keeps doing math after midnight or a marriage that runs on logistics and fumes, both of which respond to steady weekly work, and both of which your plan covers like any outpatient care.

How to start

Staten Island’s complete plan list: UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Oscar Health, Meritain Health, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Optum, Highmark BCBS WNY, Univera Healthcare and MagnaCare.

Book at the booking page, flag the evening you can protect, and we handle verification, cost, and calendar. Or call (646) 493-4007; expect a reply within one business day.

What UnitedHealthcare covers here

  • Staten Island UnitedHealthcare members overwhelmingly hold employer coverage, designed around either a flat per-session copay or a deductible followed by coinsurance. We identify your design before session one.
  • On New York-regulated plans, your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay. We confirm your plan's rules when we verify your benefits.
  • A different name on your card's behavioral health line changes nothing. One membership, one set of benefits, and the sorting is our job.
  • Video sessions are covered at your plan's telehealth benefit level, with no ferry, bridge, or parking involved in attending one.

How to book with UnitedHealthcare

  1. 1

Have your UnitedHealthcare card somewhere reachable. The member ID is the whole ticket.

  2. 2

Request a clinician and an evening or weekend slot on our booking page.

  3. 3

We verify the design, copay or deductible, and message you the confirmed cost before your intake.

  4. 4

Keep the weekly video session from home, after dinner, after bedtime, whenever the house goes quiet.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

UnitedHealthcare questions

Does MindView Therapy take UnitedHealthcare in Staten Island?

Yes. We are in-network with UnitedHealthcare and see Staten Island adults by secure video anywhere in New York State. We have no office in the borough; our closest is in Jamaica, Queens, roughly 23 miles away, and island sessions run by video.

Can sessions happen after the kids are down?

Yes, and that is the most requested slot on the island. Evening and weekend video sessions exist precisely for two-earner households, and attending one requires a quiet room, not a babysitter. The hour stays consistent even when the week does not.

What will I pay per session on UnitedHealthcare?

Your employer's design answers that, either a flat copay each session or the negotiated rate until your deductible is met, then coinsurance. We verify which applies to you and deliver the figure before your first session.

Do I need a referral?

No. Outpatient therapy on UnitedHealthcare plans is bookable directly, no referral required. We confirm your specific plan's rules while verifying your benefits.
