Why MindView

Most therapy in Buffalo has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take Cigna. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Cigna in Buffalo, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network with Cigna in Buffalo, with secure video sessions anywhere in New York State. You pay your plan's copay or coinsurance rather than the full fee, and we verify your benefits and give you the number before your first session.

Many Buffalo employers pair Cigna coverage with a few free counseling sessions through work, and many people burn through those and stall. This page is the next step. We are in-network with Cigna, moving from the free sessions into ongoing covered therapy is routine, and your per-session cost is verified and quoted before the first appointment.

Cigna coverage works at MindView Buffalo

We are in-network with Cigna. Buffalo clients are seen by secure video anywhere in New York State. In-network pricing means your plan’s copay or coinsurance is the whole bill; the gap between our rate and the plan’s payment never lands on you.

When the free sessions run out

Here is a pattern we see weekly. A Buffalo employer offers a small number of no-cost counseling sessions through work. Someone finally uses them, the sessions help, and then the allotment ends right as the work was getting somewhere. The stall that follows is where a lot of progress quietly dies.

The fix is simpler than most people expect: ongoing therapy continues under your regular Cigna benefit. The free sessions were a front porch; your actual coverage is the house. Booking with us puts the ongoing work on your plan’s normal outpatient terms, your copay or coinsurance per session, verified in advance. If you liked what the first few sessions did, the move from them into sustained, structured therapy is a booking, not a leap. And nothing obliges you to restart the story from zero: tell your new therapist what the first sessions covered and what helped, and the ongoing work picks up the thread instead of rewinding it.

Downtown coverage, downtown schedules

HSBC’s Buffalo operations and the rest of the downtown office base put thousands of insured professionals in the city core (Buffalo Niagara Partnership). Video suits them, because the hours an office job protects least are exactly the hours a bricks-and-mortar therapy practice keeps. On most Cigna plans the telehealth benefit matches the office benefit, and we confirm yours during verification.

Your three cost words

Copay: a fixed amount per session. Coinsurance: your percentage of the negotiated in-network rate. Deductible: the part you pay at that discounted rate before the plan shares costs. Every Cigna plan arranges these differently, so we verify yours and hand you the actual figure before the first appointment. Budget certainty is part of the treatment plan. If your plan year turns over mid-treatment, we re-verify at the turn, so a reset deductible never arrives unannounced.

How the therapy is structured

Your first session is an intake, ending with a 0 to 10 rating that becomes your baseline. The early work goes into the wider history, with any question skippable, and the treatment plan is one the two of you write together, including a personal goal. Sessions then run weekly, with standardized measures reviewed monthly; a flat trend means the plan changes, not that you failed.

Frequent starting points: anxiety, social anxiety, burnout, depression, and couples work.

What Cigna covers here

  • Because we are in-network, you owe your plan's copay, coinsurance, or remaining deductible rather than the full session rate. You are not billed the difference.
  • New York State law requires most commercial plans to cover mental health services comparably to medical services. Outpatient therapy is a covered benefit.
  • Most Cigna plans let you self-refer to an in-network behavioral health provider for outpatient therapy. We confirm the rules for your specific product when we verify benefits.
  • Telehealth therapy is covered on most Cigna plans at the same benefit level as an office visit. We confirm yours before your first session.

How to book with Cigna

  1. 1

Have your Cigna member ID card ready. The member ID is on the front.

  2. 2

Book a session online through our booking page. It takes about 30 seconds.

  3. 3

We verify your Cigna behavioral health benefits and confirm what you will owe before your first appointment.

  4. 4

Come to your first session, which is an intake, by secure video from wherever you are. If your coverage details change, we tell you before it costs you anything.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Use your Cigna benefits and get started.

Cigna questions

Is MindView Therapy in-network with Cigna in Buffalo?

Yes. Cigna members are in-network with us across New York, and video sessions cover the whole state.

My work gave me a few free counseling sessions and they are ending. What now?

This is one of the most common ways Buffalo clients arrive. Ongoing therapy continues under your regular Cigna benefit at your plan's copay or coinsurance. Book with us, mention where you are coming from, and the transition is a calendar event rather than a restart.

What will therapy cost me with Cigna?

Your plan's copay or coinsurance after any remaining deductible, never the full session fee. We verify your exact plan and quote the number before session one.

Do I need a referral or prior authorization for weekly therapy?

Generally no. Routine outpatient therapy on most Cigna plans is self-referred with no prior authorization. Plan designs vary at the edges, and our verification catches yours before you book.

Do you offer couples counseling in Buffalo with Cigna?

Where your plan covers it, yes, and we confirm coverage during verification. Partners join one video session, together or from two locations, both in New York State.

How soon can I be seen?

Choosing a time takes about 30 seconds and we reply within one business day. We are accepting new clients now.
