Why MindView
Most therapy in Geneva has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.
Plenty of practices take MagnaCare. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.
- 01
Intake
What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.
- 02
Your history
Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.
- 03
Treatment plan
Written and collaborative, built against those causes.
- 04
Monthly review
Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.
A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.
Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

MagnaCare in Geneva, in short
MindView Therapy is in-network for MagnaCare and sees Geneva adults by secure video anywhere in New York State. MagnaCare is not sold to individuals. It reaches people through a union or Taft-Hartley benefit fund, or through an employer that funds its own plan, so if your union fund or employer plan uses MagnaCare we can bill it. The fund sets the copay, coinsurance or deductible, which is why we verify with your fund before anything is scheduled.
Private construction in Ontario County averages 3,636 jobs across 282 establishments at $101,658 a year, against $66,342 across all jobs in the county. It is the best-paid large sector there. A fund card is the one card nobody in the household chose, and the cost answer sits with the fund office. That part is short. The longer part is what good, well-paid, physical work does to a decision nobody wants to make.
A card nobody shopped
Yes, MindView is in-network for MagnaCare, and Geneva adults are seen by secure video anywhere in New York State. Nobody buys a MagnaCare plan the way they buy a health plan off a shelf. It reaches people through a union or Taft-Hartley benefit fund, or through an employer that funds its own plan, so if your union fund or employer plan uses MagnaCare, we can bill it.
That distinction matters because the fund, not MagnaCare, wrote the benefit. Two households can hold a card with the same network logo on it and owe two different amounts, because two different funds set two different copays, coinsurance percentages, or deductibles. Spouses and dependents typically carry the same card, and we see adults 18 and older, so a partner covered under the same benefit books their own appointment.
Most members identify the coverage by their fund’s name first and the network name second, which is normal. The useful question for booking is not which fund wrote the benefit, but whether the card carries a MagnaCare logo underneath it. If it does, staying in-network is what keeps the cost predictable, and we confirm the rest.
The best-paid work in this county
Private construction is the highest-paid large sector in Ontario County. It averaged 3,636 jobs across 282 establishments in 2025, at $101,658 a year, against $66,342 across all 53,686 jobs in the county. Construction makes up 7.9 percent of the county’s 45,760 private jobs, a modest share of the workforce carrying an outsized share of the pay.
None of that is a claim about how many Ontario County tradespeople carry a card with a MagnaCare logo on it, which is not a figure anyone can verify and not one we will guess at. The employment count describes where jobs are located, not who belongs to a union, and it is never a count of MagnaCare cards. What the figure does support is a plainer point: this is genuinely well-paid physical work, and well-paid physical work changes the shape of a common decision.
The gap between construction pay and the Ontario County average is large enough to matter to a household budget, and it is reported here for exactly one reason: to explain why staying in a physically demanding trade is a rational choice for as long as the body allows it, not to say anything about how comfortable or difficult life in Ontario County is generally. The pay figure describes a sector. It does not describe a person, and it does not describe a community.
The decision that keeps getting postponed
Good, well-paid physical work, the kind averaging $101,658 against $66,342 across the rest of Ontario County’s jobs, is exactly the kind of work a person stays in past the point the body would have chosen on its own, because leaving is not free. So the choice does not usually show up as a crisis. It is a decision postponed for years, about whether to keep going, slow down, or move into something else, and it turns up in the small hours before an early shift, in a sleep that will not settle, and in a Sunday that starts feeling shorter than it used to. That postponed decision sits alongside the reason someone books a first session, without being the stated reason for calling.
None of this is a diagnosis, and it is not a claim about how any one person feels. It is a plain observation about what well-paid, physically hard work does to timing: it makes staying rational and leaving expensive, which is exactly the condition under which a decision gets pushed rather than made.
Part of what makes the decision hard to say out loud is that it is not only financial. Being good at a physically demanding trade is often part of how a person sees themselves, and admitting the body is losing an argument it used to win can feel like admitting something larger than a scheduling problem. That is a life transition in the plain sense of the term, whether or not the job actually changes, and it is a reasonable thing to bring to a first session even before any decision has been made.
What that does to sleep and to a Sunday
A body that argues back at the end of a shift does not stay quiet at night. Trouble winding down, waking earlier than planned, a weekend that goes to recovery instead of anything else, none of that is unusual in physically demanding trade work, and none of it requires a diagnosis to be worth talking through. Sleep problems and ongoing physical strain are a common enough pairing that we treat them as connected rather than as two separate conversations.
A standing weekly appointment is also a genuinely useful anchor against a schedule built around a job site rather than a calendar. It does not need to compete with the work; it needs a fixed hour that survives a long week, which is part of why we set a recurring time rather than a floating one.
Where the cost answer actually lives
The fund writes the benefit, so the fund office holds the number, not MagnaCare and not us in advance. That is why we do not quote a flat MagnaCare copay: your specific fund sets a flat copay, or a deductible followed by coinsurance, and we confirm it before your first session rather than after.
Copay is a fixed amount you pay per visit. Coinsurance is a percentage of the visit cost you owe once a deductible is met. Deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before the plan starts sharing the cost. Staying in-network, which MindView is, is what keeps whichever of those applies to you as low as your plan allows.
On New York-regulated plans your therapy copay cannot be higher than your primary-care copay. That protection does not reach every self-funded or Taft-Hartley arrangement, which is one more reason we check your specific fund rather than assume the rule applies. We would rather confirm the number and tell you once than guess and correct it later.
From here to a first session
Have your fund benefit card ready, and note whether MagnaCare is printed on it as the network. Book online; it takes about 30 seconds. We contact your fund, confirm what your plan owes, and tell you the amount before anything is scheduled, so nothing about the cost arrives as a surprise later.
MindView has no office in Geneva. Every session runs by secure video with a clinician licensed in New York State, the same as it would from a fund office two counties over. A first session is an intake rather than treatment: what brought you in, the background that matters to it, what you want different, and a baseline reading using standardized measures that later sessions get checked against. From there you set a recurring weekly time.
People carrying a fund card into a first session bring the ordinary range: anxiety, depression, a life transition that has been sitting unresolved, or the kind of chronic pain and physical strain that a demanding trade leaves behind. None of that requires a diagnosis before you book, and none of it requires deciding anything about the job first. See the Geneva location page for the full list of plans covered here, part of our statewide New York coverage.
What MagnaCare covers here
- •MagnaCare is not a plan you shop for. If your union fund or employer plan uses MagnaCare, we are in-network for you.
- •The fund, not an insurer, writes the benefit design, so the copay, coinsurance or deductible is set by the fund office rather than by MagnaCare itself.
- •Spouses and dependents on a fund benefit typically carry the same card. We see adults 18 and older; a partner on the same card books their own visit.
- •New York-regulated plans cannot set a therapy copay higher than a primary-care copay, though that rule does not reach every self-funded or Taft-Hartley plan, so it is confirmed for your specific fund rather than assumed.
- •Staying in-network is what keeps a member's out-of-pocket cost predictable, which is one more reason we verify against the card before the first session rather than after.
How to book with MagnaCare

Have your fund benefit card ready, and check whether MagnaCare is printed on it as the network.

Book online. It takes about 30 seconds.
- 3
We contact your fund, confirm what your plan owes per session, and tell you the number before anything is scheduled.

Your first session is an intake, by secure video with a clinician licensed in New York State.
What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- Getting started
Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- Mapping what is behind it
Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Writing the plan together
You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.
- Ongoing
Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

MagnaCare questions
My card has a fund name on it and MagnaCare underneath. What is that?
It means your union fund or employer plan uses MagnaCare as its network. The fund, not an insurer, wrote your benefit, so the copay, coinsurance or deductible came from the fund office rather than from MagnaCare directly. We verify it with your fund before you book, so you are not the one who has to call and ask.
Can I buy a MagnaCare plan for myself?
No. MagnaCare is not sold to individuals or families shopping on their own. It reaches people through a union or Taft-Hartley benefit fund, or through an employer that funds its own plan. If your union fund or employer plan uses MagnaCare, we are in-network for you either way.
I'm good at this work and it pays well, and I've been putting off deciding how much longer I can keep doing it. Is that something therapy actually helps with?
Yes, and it is one of the more common things people in physically demanding trades bring in, usually years after they first started thinking about it. It is a decision rather than a symptom, and working through it with someone does not require you to have already decided to change anything.
Does my spouse or my kid use the same MagnaCare card?
Usually yes. A fund benefit typically covers a spouse and dependents on the same terms as the member. We see adults 18 and older, so a partner on the same card can book a separate appointment under that same coverage.
Does MindView have a Geneva office?
No. Every Geneva session is by secure video with a clinician licensed in New York State. Our offices are in Queens, Buffalo and Carmel, Indiana, and they are offices rather than places clients are seen.
