Why MindView

Most therapy in Hudson has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take MagnaCare. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

MagnaCare in Hudson, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network for MagnaCare and sees Hudson adults by secure video across New York State. MagnaCare is not a plan anybody shops for. It is used by union and Taft-Hartley funds and by employers that fund their own claims, so the cost sharing is set by that fund or employer rather than by a plan you chose. We verify what yours owes per session before anything is booked.

Columbia County has 1,235 private construction jobs spread across 248 establishments, with average annual pay of $67,069 against $55,471 across all private county jobs. The point worth making about a fund card in a county of that shape is not why the fund exists, it is what it does for the person holding it, because a benefit attached to a fund does not end when a particular job does.

If your fund or employer plan uses MagnaCare

Yes. MindView Therapy is in-network for MagnaCare, and Hudson adults are seen by secure video anywhere in New York State. Nobody buys a MagnaCare plan the way a person shops a marketplace policy. MagnaCare sits behind a card because a union or Taft-Hartley fund put it there, or because an employer chose to fund its own health claims instead of buying a policy from an insurer. Either way, the plan design underneath your card was chosen for you, not by you, and the benefit is real whichever route delivered it.

That distinction matters for one practical reason. What you owe is set by your specific fund or employer, not by MagnaCare as a company, so there is no single number that applies to every MagnaCare card that reaches us. We look up your plan, tell you what a session costs before you book, and check again any time your coverage changes.

248 contractors, 1,235 jobs, one card

Columbia County counted 1,235 private construction jobs in 2025, spread across 248 separate establishments. That works out to roughly five workers per firm, a small crew by any read of the number. Average annual pay across those construction jobs came to $67,069, against $55,471 across all 17,011 private jobs counted in the county that year.

Two things follow from a job base built that way. A construction worker in Columbia County most likely works for one of several hundred small operations rather than one large employer, and the firm that employs them this year is not guaranteed to be the firm that employs them next year. A union or Taft-Hartley fund exists partly to solve that exact problem: it collects contributions across many small contractors and administers one benefit that does not depend on any single one of them staying in business or keeping a given worker on its own payroll.

None of this is a claim about how many Columbia County construction workers actually carry a MagnaCare card. That figure is not published, and it will not be guessed at here. What the county employment numbers establish is the shape of the industry a fund model was built to fit, not who specifically is covered by one.

What you owe, and who set that number

A copay is a flat amount due at each session. Coinsurance is a percentage of the allowed charge you owe after a deductible is met. A deductible is what you pay out of pocket before the plan starts sharing the cost at all. All three show up across MagnaCare cards, and which one applies to you depends on the plan design your fund or employer chose, not on MagnaCare itself.

New York State generally requires commercial health plans to cover outpatient mental health care on the same footing as medical care. That requirement binds insurance policies the state regulates. A Taft-Hartley fund or a self-funded employer plan is often structured outside that regulatory reach, so the parity protection attached to a purchased policy does not automatically extend to every MagnaCare card. We cannot tell you in the abstract whether your specific plan is covered by it. What we can do is verify your plan directly and tell you, before your first session, exactly what you will owe and whether a deductible is still open.

That verification happens every time, not once and done. A new plan year can reset a deductible. A change of fund or employer can change the entire design underneath the same MagnaCare name on your card. We check before a course of care starts and again at any point your coverage changes, so the number you are quoted is the number that actually applies rather than an estimate based on what MagnaCare cards typically look like elsewhere.

A benefit that follows you between employers

Most of what sets a MagnaCare card apart from a purchased policy is a fact about administration. This part is a fact about what happens when the work itself changes, and it is the reason a Hudson construction worker’s card deserves a page of its own.

A benefit that belongs to a fund is not the same as a benefit that belongs to one of Columbia County’s 248 construction firms. When a worker moves from one contractor to the next, or a project wraps and the following one has not started yet, coverage tied to a single employer can lapse in that gap. Coverage tied to a fund can keep running, because the fund’s job is to hold the benefit together across exactly that kind of change.

That distinction carries into the therapy room. A common reason people book a first session and then stop showing up has little to do with the work done in it: a crew gets reassigned, a project ends before the next one lines up, or a worker is laid off between contracts, and coverage tied to that one employer goes with it. What makes starting or sticking with a course of care harder, more often than whatever brought someone in, is exactly that kind of interruption. A benefit that stays with a fund instead of a single contractor takes that particular interruption off the table, and that is the first thing that changes when the name on the card belongs to a fund rather than to one employer.

It is worth being just as plain about what that does not mean. This is not a claim that any particular person’s coverage will continue through any particular change, and it is not a guarantee about how any specific fund or employer plan is written. We verify coverage at the start of care and again at any change precisely because portability describes a pattern in how fund benefits tend to be built, not a promise about one person’s card. It is also not a statement about who carries a MagnaCare card in Columbia County, which union or local stands behind any given fund, or how often work changes hands in construction generally. None of that is a claim being made here.

Who books here

Adults 18 and older across Hudson and the rest of Columbia County reach MagnaCare through a union or Taft-Hartley fund, or through an employer that funds its own health claims rather than buying a plan from an insurer. People come in for anxiety, depression, the physical and emotional load covered under chronic pain and illness, everyday stress management, the adjustments that come with life transitions, job changes included, or a more open-ended need covered by general therapy.

MindView has no office in Hudson, and every session is by secure video with a clinician licensed in New York. See the Hudson location page for the full list of plans covered here, part of statewide New York coverage. You do not need a diagnosis to book, and you do not need anything from your fund beyond what your specific plan already requires.

From here to a first session

Have your MagnaCare card ready, along with the name of your fund or employer if you know it. Book online; it takes about 30 seconds. We verify your specific plan and tell you the per-session cost before anything is scheduled, deductible included if one applies.

A first session is an intake rather than treatment: what brought you in, the background that matters to it, what you want different, and a baseline reading using standardized measures that later sessions get checked against. From there you set a recurring weekly time, with the cost already settled and your coverage confirmed under whatever fund or employer plan is currently in place.

What MagnaCare covers here

  • •You pay your plan's copay, coinsurance, or remaining deductible instead of the full session fee. You are never billed the difference.
  • •MagnaCare is used by union and Taft-Hartley funds and by employers that fund their own health claims, not sold as an individual policy.
  • •Because your fund or employer sets the plan design, cost sharing can differ between two people who both hold a MagnaCare card.
  • •New York's parity requirement for outpatient mental health coverage generally binds regulated insurance policies, and Taft-Hartley funds and self-funded employer plans are often structured outside that reach.
  • •We verify your specific benefit before your first session and again at any change of fund, employer, or plan year.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

MagnaCare questions

Can I buy a MagnaCare plan?

No. MagnaCare is not sold as an individual or marketplace product, and there is no plan year or open enrollment window to shop it in. It reaches people through a union or Taft-Hartley fund, or through an employer that funds its own health claims. If your union fund or employer plan uses MagnaCare, we are in-network for it. If neither applies to you, MagnaCare is not something to go looking for on its own.

I am about to change contractors. Do I have to stop therapy?

Usually not, if your coverage runs through a fund rather than through the contractor itself. A fund benefit belongs to the fund, not to any one of Columbia County's construction employers, which is what lets it keep running across a change of job. We re-verify your coverage whenever something changes and tell you the new number before your next session.

My card says MagnaCare. How do I find out what a session costs?

The fund or employer behind your card sets the cost sharing, so the number is specific to your plan rather than to MagnaCare generally. Bring your card when you book and we check your specific benefit, then tell you the per-session cost, deductible included, before anything is scheduled.

Does the New York therapy parity rule apply to my MagnaCare plan?

Often not directly. New York's parity requirement binds insurance policies the state regulates, and a Taft-Hartley fund or a self-funded employer plan is frequently structured outside that reach. We cannot tell you in the abstract whether your specific plan is covered by it, but we can verify your actual benefit and tell you what applies.

Does MindView have a Hudson office?

No. Every Hudson session is by secure video with a clinician licensed in New York, from anywhere in the state. Our nearest offices are in Queens and Buffalo, named as offices rather than as places clients are seen.
