Oscar Health in Levittown, in short
Yes. MindView Therapy is in-network with Oscar Health and sees Levittown adults 18 and older by secure video anywhere in New York State. Oscar is an individual marketplace plan in New York, sold in eight counties including Nassau, with no employer route since Oscar left small group at the end of 2024. Most people on it arrived recently, from a job change or a plan that ended, so we start by confirming what the new plan sets.
Levittown has one of the lower working-age uninsured rates in New York, 1,020 residents aged 19 to 64 without coverage, 3.2 percent, against 5.4 percent across Nassau County and 7.2 percent statewide. Another 3,591 buy coverage themselves, 11.4 percent, against 13.7 percent countywide. Buying your own plan here is the smaller road, and the people on it are usually new to it.
The smaller road, and who is on it
Most working-age adults in Levittown get their health coverage through a job. The smaller share buy a plan on their own: 3,591 residents aged 19 to 64 hold direct-purchase coverage, 11.4 percent, against 13.7 percent across Nassau County. Levittown CDP itself is a census designated place rather than an incorporated village, sitting inside the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, which is worth stating plainly since the coverage figures below describe that specific place.
Oscar Health is one plan sold on that smaller road. It is bought individually, never through an employer, and New York certifies it in eight counties, Nassau among them. That structure matters here because Oscar exited the small-group market at the end of 2024, so there is no employer route onto an Oscar plan anywhere in the state, in Nassau or otherwise. Anyone holding an Oscar card in Levittown chose and bought that plan themselves.
That single fact shapes what comes next. A plan someone shopped for and bought directly behaves differently, administratively, from one an employer selected on their behalf. The terms are set once a year, by the member, and they often change from year to year in ways an employer plan does not. Nassau sits alongside Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, Richmond, Suffolk and Westchester as one of the eight counties where Oscar is certified to sell, which is worth naming because coverage stops at that county line rather than extending statewide the way an employer plan often does.
We are in-network with Oscar Health and see Levittown adults by secure video anywhere in New York State, and the first thing we do with a new Oscar member is confirm exactly what that year’s plan sets. That step matters more here than it would for someone on a long-held employer plan, precisely because an individually bought plan is the kind a member is more likely to be new to.
3.2 percent, and what a low number does not mean
Levittown’s uninsured rate among adults aged 19 to 64 is 3.2 percent, 1,020 residents, against 5.4 percent across Nassau County and 7.2 percent statewide. Both figures sit below their county and state comparisons, which puts Levittown among the more consistently covered places in the region for this age group.
That number describes coverage status, and nothing past it. It is not a claim about how many of those covered residents get their plan through an employer versus buying it themselves, and it is not a statement about income or need. A low uninsured rate sitting next to a below-county direct-purchase rate is a coverage-access pattern, not evidence that the individual market here is unimportant or unused.
Nothing in these figures says who specifically holds an Oscar plan among the 3,591 residents on direct-purchase coverage. What they establish is that self-bought coverage is the smaller of Levittown’s two coverage roads, which is exactly why the people travelling it are more likely to be recently arrived on it rather than settled into years of the same plan.
A job that ended, a move off a parent’s plan, or a marriage that changed whose plan covers whom, those are the ordinary reasons someone lands on an Oscar card in the first place, and each one tends to arrive with its own weight: a career that didn’t end the way anyone planned, a family relationship shifting under a new roof, or a season of adjusting to a life that looks different than it did in January. A low uninsured rate does not mean any of that is rare here. It means Levittown’s 1,020 uninsured residents are the exception rather than a sign that starting therapy after one of those changes is unusual.
New plan, new numbers
Someone who buys an individual plan usually did so for a specific reason: a job that ended, a move off a parent’s plan, or a switch away from coverage that no longer fit. In a place where most people are still covered through an employer, that puts Oscar members in a smaller group who are statistically more likely to be new to whatever plan they are now holding.
A new plan means new numbers. The deductible resets on the plan’s own year, which for a marketplace plan is usually calendar-year rather than tied to an employer’s benefit cycle. Where a member stands against that deductible, and what their specific cost sharing looks like for an outpatient visit, is not something we assume from the Oscar name alone. Two people holding an Oscar card can be at very different points in the same plan year.
That is the reason we check before booking rather than quoting a number up front. Assuming continuity with a previous plan, or assuming the deductible position from January, is the most common way a member gets an unexpected bill. Confirming the actual plan year and the actual deductible position takes the guessing out of it before a first appointment is ever scheduled.
None of this is a claim about how many Levittown residents specifically switch onto an Oscar plan in a given year, which is not a figure we can verify and will not guess at. What is verifiable is the structural point: an individually bought plan changes hands, and changes terms, in a way an employer plan usually does not, and a member new to that pattern benefits from having it checked rather than assumed.
Deductible, copay, coinsurance, defined once
Three terms cover most of what an Oscar member needs to understand about a therapy bill. A copay is a flat amount owed per visit, set by the plan, and it does not change with the size of the bill. Coinsurance is a percentage of the allowed cost, owed after any deductible is met. A deductible is the amount a member pays out of pocket before the plan starts sharing costs at all, and it resets once each plan year.
Which of the three applies to a given session, and in what order, depends on the specific plan and where the member currently stands against it. New York regulates marketplace plans sold in the state, and its rule for New York-regulated plans is straightforward: a therapy copay cannot be set higher than a primary care copay on the same plan. That protection applies to state-regulated coverage like Oscar’s marketplace plans; it does not extend to a plan an employer buys outside New York or self-funds, since those follow different rules.
We are not a broker, and we do not enroll anyone in a plan or advise on which one to choose. What we do is confirm the specific plan a Levittown member already holds and tell them, before the first session, exactly what that session will cost. The carrier name alone never tells us the number, and we do not quote one until the plan itself has been checked.
That check also covers the out-of-pocket maximum, the yearly ceiling on what a member pays before the plan covers the rest in full. A member close to that ceiling from other medical costs in the same plan year can end up owing far less for therapy than the deductible alone would suggest, which is another reason a plan name by itself is not enough to work from.
Booking on a marketplace plan
Booking works the same way for a Levittown adult on an Oscar plan as it does for any other plan we take. Have the Oscar member card ready, book a session online, and we verify the plan and confirm the cost before anything is scheduled. There is no Levittown office and no in-person visit involved; every session runs by secure video with a clinician licensed in New York, and the practice is open to adults 18 and older.
People on an individual plan here come in for the same range of reasons anyone else does, including anxiety, a major life transition, or an adjustment period tied to the job change or life event that often puts someone on a marketplace plan in the first place. A first session is an intake: what brought you in, the background behind it, and what you want different, with a baseline reading using standardized measures that later sessions get checked against.
From there, a member sets a recurring weekly time that works with their schedule, with the plan and the per-session cost already confirmed. More on how coverage works across the state sits on the Levittown location page, alongside the other plans accepted there.
What Oscar Health covers here
- •Oscar Health is a plan you buy for yourself. New York certifies it in eight counties, Nassau among them, and there has been no employer route since Oscar exited small group at the end of 2024.
- •New York regulates marketplace plans sold in the state, which is different from a plan an out-of-state employer buys or self-funds.
- •You pay your plan's copay, coinsurance, or remaining deductible instead of the full session fee. You are never billed the difference.
- •We check your specific plan and confirm the per-session cost before your first appointment, rather than quoting a general figure.
- •Every session is by secure video with a clinician licensed in New York. Levittown has no MindView office.

What does therapy here actually look like?
The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.
- Getting started
Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.
- Mapping what is behind it
Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.
- Writing the plan together
You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.
- Ongoing
Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.
Therapy here is measured, not guessed
Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.
Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Oscar Health questions
I just moved onto my own plan after leaving a job. What changes?
The plan year, where you stand against the deductible, and your cost sharing are all new, and none of it carries over from an old employer plan. We do not assume anything based on what you had before. Bring the Oscar card, and we confirm all three before your first session so nothing shows up as a surprise on a bill.
Is Oscar the only way to buy my own plan in Levittown?
No. Oscar is one individual marketplace plan we are in-network with, and Nassau is one of eight New York counties where it is certified to sell. We can only speak to the plans we can actually bill, so we are not the right source for comparing carriers or picking one.
Hardly anyone I know here buys their own coverage. Does that matter?
About 3,591 Levittown residents aged 19 to 64 hold direct-purchase coverage, 11.4 percent, against 13.7 percent across Nassau County, and 1,020 in that age group are uninsured, 3.2 percent, against 5.4 percent countywide. A smaller road is not a worse one, and a low uninsured rate is not a claim that nobody here needs the marketplace.
Can you help me sign up for an Oscar plan?
No. We are a therapy practice, not a broker, and we do not enroll anyone in coverage. What we do is verify a plan you already hold and give you the per-session number before you book. For choosing or changing a plan, the state marketplace is the right place to start.
Does an Oscar plan cover the same therapy as an employer plan?
The benefit works the same way. You owe your share of the cost and never the difference, whether that share is a copay, coinsurance, or the remainder of a deductible. On New York-regulated plans like Oscar, your therapy copay cannot be set higher than your primary care copay.
