Why MindView

Most therapy in Portage has no structure. Ours has four stages and a scoreboard.

Plenty of practices take Cigna. What you get here is one format for every client: a full intake, a written treatment plan, and standardized measures reviewed with you every month, so you can see whether it is working.

  1. 01

    Intake

What is actually going on, rated 0 to 10 as your baseline.

  2. 02

    Your history

Why it is happening. History, relationships, work, health.

  3. 03

    Treatment plan

Written and collaborative, built against those causes.

  4. 04

    Monthly review

Standardized measures, reviewed with you. You see the trend.

A license is where our training starts, not where it ends.

Every clinician is state-licensed before they see a single client. Then they train with us across every modality, and how to match one to the problem in front of them.

Cigna in Portage, in short

MindView Therapy is in-network with Cigna for Portage clients. Sessions are held by secure video anywhere in Indiana, you pay your plan's copay or coinsurance, and we verify the benefit before your first session.

Here is what that means, what you will pay, and how to book in about 30 seconds.

Start here: Cigna therapy in Portage

First things first: we are in-network with Cigna, and Portage clients are seen by secure video under Indiana licensure, from anywhere in the state.

That contract is what protects your wallet. You pay the copay or coinsurance your plan defines, never the full session fee.

Second things second: there is no MindView office in Portage, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. Our Indiana practice is based in Carmel, about 140 miles away.

The two-network thing Cigna members learn the hard way

Cigna - we are in-network. Plenty of people confirm a provider takes Cigna, book, and then watch a therapy claim bounce because only the medical network was checked.

Your behavioral health copay may not match your medical copay

One quiet Cigna quirk: the behavioral health copay is set separately from the medical specialist copay, and on some plans the numbers differ. Members assume the copay they pay a dermatologist applies to therapy, and it may not, in either direction. We verify the behavioral figure specifically and tell you before your first session.

Copays, coinsurance, and your real number

One Cigna habit worth adopting: read the behavioral health line of your plan rather than the medical one, since the two can carry different copays. Flat copays are most common, with coinsurance and deductible-first designs also in circulation.

The benefits check happens before your first appointment, so the cost is a decision you make in advance, never a surprise you absorb later.

Who we see in Portage

Portage has a lakefront inside a national park and an economy that runs on steel and logistics, and neither leaves much daytime for appointments. Video sessions land before shifts, after them, or on the days off; our Carmel office, about 140 miles away, never needs to enter the picture.

From South Haven to Ogden Dunes to the Burns Harbor edges, Portage households mostly run on industrial and trade schedules. What reaches us: shift-work insomnia that turned into something heavier, anxiety about an industry that swings, and partners who see each other mostly in passing.

Who you would work with

Indiana sessions are with our Indiana-licensed therapist, and we work with adults (18+). Because the license is statewide, a Portage client gets the same therapist, the same structure, and the same insurance network as a client sitting a mile from our Carmel base.

Does video therapy actually work?

It is the right question for anyone in Portage weighing this, and the evidence gives a careful answer: for common outpatient concerns, studies comparing therapy delivered by video with the same therapy in a room have generally found comparable results. We phrase it that way on purpose, comparability is the honest claim.

What we add is measurement. Monthly standardized measures, reviewed with you, so progress is something you can see rather than something you are asked to take on faith.

A structure you can see from the outside

Your first session is an intake: the problem gets named and rated 0 to 10 as a baseline. From there the work takes the longer look across your history, any part of which you may skip, and the treatment plan is built jointly, in plain language, with concrete objectives.

After those three sessions the rhythm is weekly, and once a month the standardized measures tell both of you whether the plan deserves to survive unchanged.

What else do you take in Indiana?

Cigna is one of three plans we take in Indiana; the others are Aetna and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Portage households with mixed coverage can ask us to compare, we verify both and tell you which costs less.

The first step, minus the friction

No phone tag required: book through our secure client portal in about 30 seconds. We verify your Cigna benefits up front and tell you your exact per-session cost before your first appointment.

We are accepting new clients and respond within one business day. And if a call is the easier first move, (646) 493-4007 works too.

What Cigna covers here

  • Your behavioral health copay is not always the same as your medical specialist copay. We check the therapy figure specifically.
  • Most Cigna plans cover virtual behavioral health visits, commonly at the same benefit level as an office visit. We confirm yours before your first session.
  • In-network means the negotiated rate protects you. You pay your plan's copay, coinsurance, or remaining deductible, and the difference is never billed to you.
  • Your specific benefits are checked before session one, so the first cost you hear for a Portage session is the accurate one.

How to book with Cigna

  1. 1

Book online and choose a time, about 30 seconds.

  2. 2

We run the benefits check on your specific plan and tell you your per-session cost up front.

  3. 3

Meet by secure video for the intake. If your coverage ever changes, you hear it from us before it costs you anything.

What does therapy here actually look like?

The first three sessions follow a clear structure, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Getting started

Your first session is an intake. Your therapist asks what brought you in and about your history, and you rate the intensity of what you are feeling from 0 to 10. That becomes your baseline. You set a recurring weekly time before you leave.

  2. Mapping what is behind it

Your therapist walks through your life across stages, looking for the patterns and strengths behind what brought you in. You can decline any question and keep any answer short.

  3. Writing the plan together

You and your therapist build the plan together. Goals are tied to what you came in for, each with concrete objectives, plus one personal goal that matters to you.

  4. Ongoing

Weekly sessions work the plan. Once a month you and your therapist review standardized measures together to see whether it is working, and the plan is adjusted from what they show.

Therapy here is measured, not guessed

Once a month you have a measurement-based care review. You complete standardized measures, and your therapist reviews the trend with you. If something is not working, the plan changes. Regular therapy is the work. The review is the navigation system that keeps it pointed at the right target.

Sessions are weekly for the first two months to build a foundation, then frequency is reassessed with you. You set the pace, and you share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Use your Cigna benefits and get started.

Choose a time and book. It takes about 30 seconds. Opens our secure client portal.

Cigna questions

Can I use Cigna for therapy in Portage?

Yes, we are in-network with Cigna for Indiana, Portage included. Sessions run by secure video statewide under an Indiana license, and your benefits are verified before the first one.

Do you have an office in Portage?

No. We do not have a Portage office; our Indiana practice is based in Carmel, about 140 miles away, and every Portage session is held by secure video.

What does in-network with Cigna mean for my bill?

It means the negotiated rate applies, so you owe your plan's copay or coinsurance, with any unmet deductible first, and never the difference between our fee and the negotiated rate.

What will therapy cost me with Cigna?

You pay your plan's copay or coinsurance rather than the full session fee, and any unmet deductible may apply first. Costs vary by plan, so we verify your benefits and tell you the number before your first session.

Are you actually taking new clients?

Yes. We respond within one business day, booking online takes about 30 seconds, and your benefits are verified before your first appointment.

I live in Portage but work in Illinois. Can I still do sessions?

Yes, with one rule: you must be physically in Indiana during the session, because our clinician is licensed in Indiana. A session from home in Portage works; a session from an office across the state line does not, so most cross-border commuters schedule around home time.

Take the first step

You do not have to figure this out alone. Booking takes about 30 seconds.
