MindView’s out-of-pocket rates in Indiana

Session Fee
Intake and evaluation, individual (first session) $200
Individual session (60 minutes) $175
Intake and evaluation, couples (first session) $225
Couples session (60 minutes) $200

Telehealth and office sessions cost the same; the format never changes the fee. Sliding scale rates are available based on financial need. Ask when you book.

With insurance, none of these numbers apply. If your plan covers outpatient therapy and we are in-network, you pay your plan’s copay, coinsurance, or deductible amount instead. In Indiana, MindView is in-network with exactly three payers: Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Aetna. We verify your benefits before your first session, so you decide with the real number in front of you.

What each Indiana payer means for your cost

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Anthem is the Blue Cross Blue Shield plan in Indiana, so if your card says Blue Cross, it is almost certainly an Anthem card. Most Anthem plans cover outpatient therapy with a copay or coinsurance once any deductible is met.

Cigna - we are in-network. That is why a doctor who takes your Cigna medical plan tells you nothing about therapy coverage.

Aetna - we are in-network. We check your plan before your first session and tell you what you will pay.

If your plan is not one of these three, you can still come at the out-of-pocket or sliding scale rate, and many plans reimburse part of out-of-network care. HSA and FSA funds also apply; therapy is an eligible expense.

Why nobody can quote one price for the whole state

The honest answer to “what does therapy cost in Indiana” is that your plan document sets it, not the therapist. Four things drive the number: whether a behavioral health deductible applies before coverage starts, whether your share is a flat copay or a percentage, how much of your deductible is already met this year, and when your plan year resets. That last one means your cost can change in January for no clinical reason at all.

This is why we run the benefits check ourselves instead of asking you to decode it. Before your first session you get your actual per-session cost, in writing, from a person who has read your plan.

What the fee buys at MindView

Therapy here is structured, not open-ended talking. Your first session is an intake, the early work maps your history properly, and the treatment plan is one you build with your therapist. Sessions then run weekly and work the plan, and once a month you review standardized measures against your intake baseline to see whether the work is helping. If the numbers are flat, that is a conversation about changing the plan, not a reason to keep paying and hoping.

Common questions

How much is therapy in Indiana with insurance?

Whatever your plan's cost-sharing says: a flat copay, a percentage of the contracted rate, or the contracted rate itself until a deductible is met. Two people with the same insurer can pay very different amounts. MindView verifies your specific Anthem, Cigna, or Aetna benefits before your first appointment and tells you the real per-session number, not an estimate.

Does Anthem cover therapy in Indiana?

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is the Blue Cross Blue Shield plan in Indiana, and most Anthem plans cover outpatient therapy with an in-network provider for a copay or coinsurance. Is online therapy cheaper than office visits in Indiana?

Per session, no. Telehealth is billed as the same service as an office visit, so the fee and your insurance cost-sharing are identical. Where video sessions save money is around the session: no commute to Carmel, no parking, no time off work. For anyone outside the Indianapolis area, that difference is what makes weekly therapy practical.

Usually, yes. Most major health insurance plans now cover online therapy with a licensed therapist the same way they cover office visits, with the same copay or coinsurance.
