Quick answer

How much does online therapy cost?

It depends on your insurance. In-network telehealth costs the same as an office visit: your plan's copay, coinsurance, or deductible amount, which we verify before you book. Out of pocket at MindView Therapy, an online individual session is $175 with an LMHC or $125 with a limited permit clinician, with intakes at $200 and $175. Sliding scale rates are available, and telehealth is billed exactly like in-person care.

How much is online therapy with insurance?

Whatever your plan charges for an in-network office visit, because telehealth is billed as the same service. That means your copay or coinsurance, with any unmet deductible applying first, and the amount is set by your plan, not the therapist. MindView verifies your telehealth benefits before your first session and tells you your exact cost per visit.

How much is online therapy without insurance?

At MindView, an out-of-pocket individual session is $175 with an LMHC or $125 with a limited permit clinician; the first intake and evaluation session is $200 or $175. Sliding scale rates are available based on financial need. These fees apply only when you pay directly; with insurance, your plan's copay, coinsurance, or deductible replaces them.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Per session, usually not; most practices, including MindView, bill telehealth and office visits identically, and insurers treat them as the same service. Where online saves real money is everything around the session: no commute, no parking, no childcare for the hour, and no time off work. For a weekly commitment those costs add up faster than the fee.

Are subscription therapy apps cheaper than using insurance?

Often not, once coverage is factored in. Subscription apps bill your card directly and insurance rarely covers them, while sessions at an in-network practice run through your behavioral health benefits, so you pay a copay or coinsurance instead of the full price. Apps also often sell messaging access with shorter live sessions rather than a full weekly psychotherapy session with a therapist licensed in your state.

MindView’s out-of-pocket telehealth rates

Session LMHC Limited permit clinician
Intake and evaluation (first session) $200 $175
Individual session (60 minutes) $175 $125

Telehealth and in-office sessions cost the same; the rate depends on the clinician, not the format. Sliding scale rates are available based on financial need. Ask when you book.

If you have insurance, none of these numbers apply. Every plan we accept covers our telehealth sessions, and your cost is your plan’s copay, coinsurance, or deductible amount instead. We verify your benefits and tell you your per-session cost before your first appointment, so you decide with the real number in front of you.
